Ozone should not be used for chemical odors like formaldehyde. It actually makes a more toxic but odorless gas out of formaldehyde and can have negative reactions with some other odors. It can even make some worse. We’ve had other ozone machines react with cleaners and deodorizers before to make a weird smelling haze in the room. The ionizing option is safer when there is a risk like that.
Both negative ions and ozone does work well for most organics. We’ve mostly been using it on ionizer mode near the cat box. We found the ozone settings tended to make any leftover wet cat food smell worse and it’s not as safe to have constantly running near the cats.
The ozone has worked great on dog pee smell a few times now and makes a great little emergency odor remover.
We just moved into a new house and had a new vinyl plank floor laid. They failed to seal along the walls and the new rescue dog peed multiple times in one of the bedrooms. After several attempts to clean along the wall and not finding anything that could reach and remove the odor under the baseboard I left this running for a few days in a bedroom around 12×12′ and the odor was mostly gone. Some veterinary deodorizer sprayed along the wall and shoving a thin cloth under it to absorb some of the excess deodorize back out and it finished completely removing the smell.
Then while cleaning out left behind items from the previous occupant we found a box of winter hats and gloves that smelled very strongly of dog pee. Even after everything was removed from the closet it still had lingering dog pee smell. I left this device in the closed closet on the single 30min treatment setting and a few hours later the smell was gone.

My only complaint is that it doesn’t output as much ozone as some of the bigger units, despite being only about three fourths the cost. That which is generated, however, is pleasant, and makes the room measurably better. This is good for small living spaces and bedrooms. It cannot keep up in larger rooms, however.

Does not do a whole lot of eliminating odors. The air does not feel “fresh” when all said and done. Did not remove smoke smell as I had hoped. Maybe do to the size of the device it does not work as well. I had used it in my bathroom, as I had a friend that smoked in my bathroom, which is a small room and there was still an obvious smell. I ran it on the continuous mode for hours. I suggest buying the upgraded/larger version if you are willing and able.

This is a smallish, quiet ionizer with three modes – Ionize, Ozone and Off. If you have a larger space where nobody will be breathing the air, you can set it on Ozone and the device will make a quicker job of clearing the air. If you want to control an ongoing situation – a cat litter box comes to mind – you can just leave it on Ionize. You always can tell which mode it is in by the color it shows. I had no way to test how well it works, but it does seem to have an effect on keeping odors down.

I’ve tried several different “small space” Ionizers and this one is better than most others I’ve tried. I have it placed in a small galley kitchen. I really like the fact you have the option to run the Ozone function, which is on a timer and automatically will shut off. Nice. I haven’t noticed a big difference when running just the negative Ion functions, but kitchens can be a finicky thing, changing daily. I run the Ozone at bedtime, when no one is in the kitchen. The smell is crisp. I’m considering getting another for the most frequently used bathroom. A good buy, in my mind.

Bought it mainly for the ozone generator part, with the negative ion thingy being a plus. It really is only good for very very small spaces, and light smells. It claims to be good for “330 sq. ft”, but it barely to cleared a cat smell in our very tiny (~40sq ft) bathroom. We did everything we could to help it, (deep cleaning, removing as much of the smell as we could beforehand, fully closing the room off the entire time) but running the “Continuous Ozone” cycle for 3 straight days didn’t really do much to help the smell at all. I’m not sure the negative ion side of it would be able to combat much either. You are better off spending a little more and getting a better one.

Sent the company a message about electronic Damage and they’re were very responsive within a half hour. Worked perfectly. I’ve had a bathroom funk in my house for the last year and a half. I’ve filled the P traps in rarely used restrooms, aired the house out, put drain sticks in, deodorizer, bleach etc. I was desperate because the funk was DRIVING ME INSANE. This was my last resort before calling a plumber. I ran it in my bedroom with attached master with the room door closed. I ran it 30 mins (15 was recommended by company). I ran it with the window open and fan pointing outward the entire time. Hence the extra time in the small space. Aired it out another 2 hours before entering the room. NO SIGNS AT ALL OF A FUNK. AT ALL. It’s a miracle!!! Lol It’s clean air as described like a fresh air smell before a rain. THE CLEANEST FRESH AIR SMELL IN FOREVER! I’m going to run it every week for a couple of months and hopefully the smell permanently dissipates. Highly recommended for a funk.

Really nice for smaller single rooms and vehicles. Lent it to a friend that fixed up a truck he bought cheap because the windshield had leaked previously. He could not get the musty mildew smell out of the upholstery. This fixed him right up.
