So easy. (Some pomegranate arils might remain attached to the fruit, but are easy to remove by hand.)
To Use:
Put a bowl or plate underneath that is a bit bigger than the deseeder to catch pomegranate juice (wear an apron just in case a little juice splashes out. Very hot water will get stains out, if you need.) If any white bits are among the arils, just take them out.
Enjoy!

Easy to use and clean up. I had one for years and I misplaced it after reorganizing my kitchen, so I got another. Now I have 2, but they last and you can de-seed a pomegranate in just a couple minutes and not stain your fingers or counters. I have given these as presents as well and the recipients were also very pleased with how easy to use.

I had tried to deseed pomegranates before and stopped buying them because it was too much work to deseed them. NOT NOW because this works really fast and easy. I cut the fruit and used the back of an ice cream scoop to hit the fruit and the seeds were all released! Amazing!

The media could not be loaded.
I really do like this and had one for years. But over time it got weak on the edges and if you hit the fruit to hard it will break. But this last year I put a bowl underneath it and that end up working better but make sure the bowl fits on the inside of the deseeder. I’ll add pictures to show. It will also keep the seeds inside and splashing juice everywhere.

I received it used (stained with pomegranate juice) and it was sold as ‘new’ so that irritated me right off the bat. I make jelly out of my pomegranates which requires 5 cups of juice per batch so after looking at it I decided that it wouldn’t be useful for my needs (way too slow a method of extraction). I opted for a commercial grade, lever action pomegranate juice extractor that was much more expensive but well worth the cost.
If you’re just looking for a once in a while treat, this may work for you, but for my purposes it was a bust. Pomegranates are a difficult fruit if you need the juice – spend the money if you have a tree and get a good quality extractor.
And it really bothered me that it was sold as a ‘new’ product and it was already stained with juice. Tsk tsk tsk

My wife loves this red fruit. I thought this would be a great thing, especially after reading about it in Cook’s Ill.
I think it has promise, but only for specific pomegranates. My grandmothers trees produce pomegranates with a lot of membrane, and occasionally we will see one with the star pattern shown in the photos in the instructions (i.e. ours have small groups of seeds, not large groups). For this, I gave it 3 stars, and not 1. Given how it worked for ours, I think pomegranates with the star pattern might work very well.
My wife says the store pomegranates tend to have the kind this item is supposed to work with.
We will keep it and see. As we also planted a tree this last summer, maybe we will have the type most people seem to have (given the reviews).

Directions how to use it are on the product. Instead of using a wooden spoon to band out the seeds, I just used the palm of my hand. Works amazing!!
