This is such a pretty little thing, I just couldn’t resist getting it! I love the shape of it, I love the faceted crystal look that captures and refracts light, and I love the pretty wood at the top. It has a flat spot on both the top and the bottom, so it can actually stand on its own, but it also comes with an interesting wooden geometric stand.
The USB cord must be plugged in to use it – it doesn’t have a battery that can be charged and then used without the cord. The wooden top has a little button that you short press to cycle through the light options, and long press to start and stop the humidifier. You can choose from a pretty golden light or colored lights that either stay solid or rotate through the colors while flashing. The light refracts out of the ball in beautiful patterns. When not filled with water, you can set it either wooden side up or wooden side down. When placed wooden side up, the lights reflect down onto the table surface. When placed wooden side down, the lights reflect up onto the ceiling. It’s really pretty at night when the room is dark!
The bottom half of the ball can be filled with water to make it a humidifier, or you can add essential oils to make it a diffuser. A cotton stick is provided for the water to wick up. When filled with water, the wooden side must be on the top, because water can drip out of the diffuser opening, although it doesn’t leak from the sides at all. I noticed that the water vapor that is emitted tends to then descend from the air and accumulates all over the top of the ball, the cord, the stand, and the surface below it. Make sure you put something waterproof underneath it when you use it as a humidifier or diffuser!
