At first I wasn’t impressed and was planning on returning it as I didn’t think it was removing the moisture as advertised. The fault was mine, it was my lack of understanding of how it should be setup. It’s not an AC unit so the dry air it produces needs to be vented into the area you want to remove moisture from. In my case it’s my basement. I, not understanding this was venting the dry air coming out of the unit to the outside of my basement thinking the heated air should be vented outside like the portable AC units do. I couldn’t get my basement below 60% humidity doing it this way and the unit was pulling about 9 gallons of water out of my basement in a 24 hour period which is a lot of water, I measured it in a 5 gallon bucket so the number is not a guess. After I figured out my mistake and removed the vent hose venting the dry air outside, my basement is now at 42% to 44% humidity keeping my whole house below 60% humidity. My house (3 stories) including the basement is about 2300 square feet. This unit really works well and it’s quiet. I live next to a lake and have lots of trees on my property so humid air is expected. Something worth noting is that the temperature and humidity meter inside the unit measures the temperature and humidity of the air coming out of the unit not the room temperature/humidity. I use separate meters on each level of the house to monitor temperature/humidity.
This unit is of higher quality than the units you purchase from Lowes or Home Depot and it has a better warranty. I recommend it as this fixed the problem with humidity in our home.

I bought several dehumidifiers for my large basement. I definitely would say this one is the best one. Cos my basement dried so quickly after I used it. Super powerful! BTW, this dehumidifier had good quality and much heavier than normal dehumidifiers. In general, easy install and use.
Last thing, a very important tip for your installation: Make sure the other end of the water drain pipe is NOT below the water line!

Order placed for the Moiswell Defender M70 on July 17th. Received the order on July 26th and waited the recommended 24 hours before installing on July 27th. I followed the manual directions for installing the unit. When I turned the unit on the fan had a knocking sound and which seemed the fan to be out of balance. I called the customer service at Moiswell. The next day I received an email asking me a few questions and to send a video of the unit with the knocking sound. On July 30th I received an email from Fiona asking if I wanted a new unit or a refund. I asked for a new unit. The new unit arrived in a few days at which time I followed the installation procedures as before and the new unit is working great. The unit is quiet and is very quick to bring down the humidity in my basement. Like other reviews I have used several different home type of dehumidifier and all usually fail after a couple of years. Since this is a commercial unit I hope to get may years of service and if I have a problem it seems this company prides itself on customer service this my first experience. Fives all the way around.

Very effective removing humidity from 1200 soft basement. Ordered this as it looks more durable, traditional dehumidifiers from local home stores are all junk based on my experience and many reviews. I hope this will last years, not months. Only thing I don’t like is it short cycles a little. I have been adjusting location to have it in an area with the best air circulation. First area I tried was too secluded so it dried air in that area quickly and cycled more often, when in areas of better air circulation the run time is longer with fewer start/stop cycles. This unit beats every other dehumidifier I have owned
