I’ve been using this unit in an upstairs room that gets real hot in the afternoon. It works well albeit the AC still kicks in late afternoon when it gets really really hot.
A couple of “flaws” prompted me to give this product 4 instead of 5 stars. See attached pics.
Also, the instruction warns not to run the unit in “cooling” mode if there’s no water in the unit. But what’s unclear to me is whether the unit will turn off if the water eventually runs out while operating in cooling mode. And I’m not willing to try running it dry to find out; I don’t want to damage the unit. I mean, I’m fine keeping an eye on the water level when I’m around; but say I set the timer on for 12 hours and then go about my day and the water runs out before 12 hours. Will it damage the unit? I guess I’ll never know.
All in all though, a good product for a good price ($129.99 at the time of review)

This swamp cooler has 4 wheels so it’s easy to move around and has a drain port so you can drain it of the dirty water and clean it occasionally. Upon turning on the swamp cooler i realized that it was honestly kind of loud and audible even at the lowest fan setting. It blows cold air but from what i noticed it’s honestly way too small for it to make any noticeable difference unless it’s blowing directly at you 24/7 and even then you only notice a small area of your body with the cool air.

I work a lot in my garage, my garage is 3 car garage aprox 30 x 40, and since i work a lot there and there is no HVAC there it can get very hot (in texas), even with the garage doors open. This has been an absoloute awesome addition to my garage, it works fantastically well – doesn’t need water hose, easily movable from one section to another and it has been an absoloute blessing for my weekends working in the garage.
