I had another unit running for 2 weeks did not improve reducing humidity. I purchased this one and within 30mins it was pulling humidity very well, very impressive unit.

The Vellgoo Dehumidifier has been running in my basement for a number of weeks. The humidity was 85% when I started it. It has been maintaining 48 to 52%. I have the hose connected to a floor drain, so no need to manually empty the dehumidifier. The sound level is low compared to most other units I have been around. It looks well made and the instructions are easy to read and follow.
My only complaint, having to wait 24 hours before being able to use the unit, per the instructions. The instructions states the unit can be damaged by starting it before waiting 24 hours.
All in all this is a good unit that is working well for me. Well worth a full 5 stars.

My Vellgoo dehumidifier worked perfectly for 10 months. It was quiet with easy controls and it did an excellent job managing the humidity in my basement. When it stopped working, I contacted Vellgoo customer service and they sent me a new replacement in a couple of days. Below are some more details of my interactions with Mina, at Vellgoo customer service.
I was disappointed when it stopped working, but I contacted Vellgoo customer service and was paired with Mina, who asked me a few questions to help her diagnose the problem. I changed some settings and reported my observations back to Mina, who then diagnosed the likely problem as a fault with the electric control unit. I was expecting instructions for contacting a local service person, but that isn’t what happened. Vellgoo offered me a new replacement dehumidifier, which I accepted quickly and the new dehumidifier was shipped quickly by Mina.
The best customer service experience I have ever had. Thank you, Mina, and thank you, Vellgoo.

I moved into a basement apartment for the first time and started having issues with all my belongings just being *damp* now that summer hit. I’ve had this guy plugged in for about a day now and it managed to pull 5 full tanks of water already and dragged the humidity down from almost 90% to around 50% (measured by the unit itself). I’m in love with it so far and the only downside has been the included drain hose being too short to be even near useful for auto-draining, and that’s easily fixed by buying a longer hose.

The unit is quiet and worked well. I emptied it daily. Then one day I went to empty and the unit was flashing “HS”. I looked this up and it is just an automatic defrost mode. Prior to this it was collecting less water. After the code went away the unit runs and does not deposit any water. I can not believe it only lasted 4mo. I usually get a 2+ years from a dehumidifier. This is completely unacceptable. I will reach out to the manufacturer and will post a update on the resolution.
Update….I reached out to manufacturer and they made things right. I would not hesitate to buy another one knowing the company has such great warranty service.

I impulse bought this dehumidifier right after Houston’s most recent hurricane. I decided I needed to better dehumidify a room where my windows leaked. Amazon delivered it quickly and it was very well packaged.
My old workhorse dehumidifier still works but is exceptionally loud and weighs a ton so it’s hard for me to get it moved in different places or up/down stairs.
The appealing factors for this item were the reported quietness and decent water collection tank.
And wow, it is quiet. It sounds about like a loud fan (which is a nice background noise.) My old dehumidifier sounds like a lawn mower for comparison.
If I tried to run it 24 hours a day, I would probably have to pour out the reservoir multiple times. It’s very humid around here. If I had a way to use the gravity drain I would, but until then I will just keep pouring out the bucket. The bucket itself is easy to pull out, and then you just pop off the lid and pour. It’s actually very easy compared to my old one. I wish it were a little bit bigger though.
So far I have used the timer settings as well as the setting where it will work to a specified level of humidity. Both of these work great. My only concern about the timer, which always works, is that it has a beep at the end. I don’t know why, but if you’re going to run it for a few hours in a bedroom, note that it will make a noise. Of course you could just run it continuously.
The auto stop has worked swimmingly and that’s not a pun. So far each time the basin has filled, it has shut off perfectly.
I’ve already recommended this model to a couple of friends. The directions are clear and setup was easy. Note that the hoses are in the bucket and that it has to sit for 24 hours upright before running. There’s a giant sticker reminder, you can’t miss it.

This unit is a different manufacturer and twice the size of our last one. We bought it because our previous one iced up and stopped working. This is much quieter and it is doing a great job of pulling the humidity out of all three floors of our house. We have it on our middle floor level where it is generally the most humid. It’s in a completely open space. When we turned it on it registered 68% humidity and after a week of use all three floors in our house are at between 42-46%. It’s pretty versatile and fits easily in any room in our open floor plan. We don’t try to hide it from plain sight because our personal comfort is more important than aesthetics.
It doesn’t send a lot of heat into the room like our old one did and it’s not competing with our central air. It was also super easy to set up. We waited 24 hours like the email instructions advised and then simply plugged it in and turned it on. The water bucket is easy to remove and so far no leaks or drips. We empty it twice a day. It pulls out and goes back in place easily. It’s also very easy to transport a full bucket to the kitchen sink. We hold it from the bottom and carry it by the handle. No issues so far.
We think it’s an excellent value for the money and we are very pleased with performance. Time will tell how it holds up over steady use, but so far so good.
Amazon Customer –
When this unit works it is great. Extremely quiet, uses only 300 watts when dehumidifying, and does the job. Unfortunately my unit died after 4 months of service. Customer service at the manufacturer was very good —they sent me a replacement after only a few emails exchanges. My only complaint with the unit is the drain hose hookup. It is awkward and hard to install—something that should be straightforward, but once installed the drain hose works fine. It dehumidifies the air very well and using only 300 watts is on the low end of power consumption by dehumidifiers which probably earned them the Energy Star designation.I will update my review if my unit fails again during the 2-year warranty period. My first dehumidifier lasted 15 years before failing—my first replacement was from HomeLabs that I bought here on Amazon. After replacing my HomeLabs dehumidifier twice and it failed again, HomeLabs just gave me my money back rather than replacing it a third time—a fair settlement I thought even though it costs me $35 to have my garbage company pick up “hazardous waste “ like a dehumidifier.
