We hired professional electrician & HVAC and unit isn’t working. We tired all troubleshooting recommendations and still nothing. Fustrated after hours of trying to make it work, we called Mr. Cool technician. She was rude and condescending, saying it was the fan that wasn’t working & we need to call the seller for assistance.
The seller doesn’t have enough techs available to assist, and after waiting on hold for 30 minutes we were told they would take our information and have a technician contact us. We’ve been trying to troubleshoot the issue for the last 4 hours. The HVAC guys says he has installed many units, but not Mr. Cool, since it’s supposed to be a DIY unit- maybe there’s a reason for purchasing other units! We will update with the outcome so that other consumers can make decisions regarding this product/ seller.
Update: 24 hours later after several more calls to the seller we were able to speak with a technician. We discovered the mistake was on our end with a mis-wiring. We finally got the unit running but it do not come with the code sticker to enable WiFI, so we are waiting to receive that from the seller.
This process was more challenging than anticipated and it was very difficult to reach a technician, hence the 3 stars.
The unit is quite and works well, once we got it running.

I don’t know if this is a Mr. Cool problem or a problem with this seller, but the installation instructions that came with the units were terrible!!! The instructions were not specific to this model, so most every step of the directions were very vauge. It never even had instruction to install the power cord inside the inside unit. I had to just keep poking around and around until the way I did it just kinda made sense. Luckily, my neighbor is an electrician and he double checked my work. Glad he did, because I had to guess on the wires, because it was not color coded. At one point in the instructions it instructed me to cut the copper piping and flare the ends myself. What??!!? I have no idea why the instructions were not specific to this model, but they weren’t. Terrible instructions!!!! I would not reccommend buying this unit, just for the pure fact if you plan to DYI, it is going to take a lot on video research (again, couldn’t find any install video on this specific model) and some good guessing. Very frustrating. Oh, and the plastic cover on the outside unit is right on the corner and was badly damaged in shipping. I’ll buy local next time, even if I have to pay a few hundred dollars more. The delay and frustration wasn’t worth saving a few hundred bucks.

First of all this is a not a DYI unit. You will need a vacuum pump and gauges to install this. wHILE IS SAYS 230v IN BOLD AND 220 VOLTS IN THE
STUPID STUFF: This unit was complete except for two problems. The “through wall tube” is 6.25 inch long. I have 2×6’s in my walls which are 5.5 inches, 1/2 inch sheetrook on the inside, half inch plywood on the outside and siding. To make sure no water drips into the wall interior from condensation I need at least a 7 inch through the wall tube. All building nowadats for energy reasones is minimall 7 inches.
What gives? It can’t cost two cents to provide the proper length. To buy a 8 inch tube on Amazon is $25…. so what do I do? They need to make the tube an inch longer. If you have 2×4 studs your are ok and this is not an issue.
WAS THIS INTENTIONAL OR WAS MY UNIT MISSING PARTS? I recevied the unit with one 6 foot drain hose section? What’s that all about? Everything else is 16 feet? I should have had three 6 foot sections to bring the water out below the unit. I just ordered 10 feet of drain hose online on Amaazon for $15.
I like Mr Cool units. I have another one but to short change the kit by probably $1 worth of simple thin plastic parts is ridiculous. Also what’s with the 1 year warrantee on the compressor. I have another one for multiple years and it works fine but you are really telling peoplel beware when the warrantee is that short.
Come on guys your are better than this.

Model 9K olympus HyperHeat Claiims are pretty accurate. Stated heating down to 5F, it does work at -11, you get about 6000 btu for 1000W electricity at -11 which is close to coefficient of performance 2.0. There are other units that do this too but its a good choice.

I installed a 9000 btu unit to heat a room that’s just under 400 square feet. It’s too soon to tell how economical it will be. However I can speak to how well it heats the space and how amazingly quiet it is. I’m very happy so far, in my first week. The local temps are under 20 since we are still in February. So the test for heat in winter conditions is a very good success. I look forward to summer and to testing the a/c.

So far so good.
Very quiet and works as described.
If you follow all the installation Instructions you won’t have any problems, easy to install: even the condenser unit arrived upside down from the delivery truck, I let the seller know before the installation and they recommended that turn it right side up and let it set for 24-48 hrs. Before the installation.
I’ve been using it for e few weeks now and no problems so far.
Heat and cooling are working great.

Everything about this product was good. The only thing was some of the 9000 btu was on 240volts and some was on 120volts, have to pay attention.

Was expecting advertised quick connect line set but received normal line connections. Instead of sending back installed anyway. But the quick connects were the reason i bought this.
