I purchased this in January 2020 to keep a 170 square foot room dry. it lasted a few days longer that the warranty. It a good looking unit and the manufacturer makes all the right promises, but in reality, it’s just junk. Take off the cover and you can see for yourself. The fancy bells and whistles mean nothing if it doesn’t work and it doesn’t. All I have to show for my $900 is a bunch of rusty hunting rifles and a lime green boat anchor with the name ALORAIR written all over it. Don’t get fooled like I was. Buy something else…anything else! A 10 pound bag of rice would do a better job. I get angry every time I think about the money I wasted and the damage to my property.

Update: A new unit was shipped in about a week along with a label to ship the old unit back. The new unit has been performing great since. Customer service was responsive to emails and always courteous. Obviously i would have preferred the original to work without issue, but that’s life. Not too many places have good customer service like this one. Given the circumstances I am happy with the results.
Previous: It ran for about an hour before shutting down and not starting back up. Customer service (CS) said it was probably the internal fuse and that there was an extra taped inside (and that going inside would not void the warranty). They also sent a link to a video. Well, the video was for a complete control board replacement and did not include instruction on how to actually remove all the parts to get to the control board (or more specifically the fuse). And as you probably guessed, there was no fuse taped to the inside. Still working with CS to get the fuse. Will follow up to this post when resolved one way or the other, but for now, as the item does not work, I have to rate as a 1. Will keep you all posted.

We have a camp that has a block basement sitting on ledge. This is very well needed as it’s very damp in there. Dropped the humidity immensely and the house as well as the basement had quite a difference! Highly recommend this product. It is energy efficient though. If it’s running all the time to keep up or maintain the proper humidity, it will obviously up the bill a little bit. Definitely worth the money

This unit has been running great for over 2 years without a hitch. I installed it in a crawlspace and ran the drain line out the back of the house and all works very well. Set the humidistat at 55, check on the unit once a month and do a filter clean. That’s the extent of the maintenance. Would highly recommend this unit as it controls the moisture and therefore the mold in the crawlspace with very little attention.

Purchased Alorair Extreme LGR August 2019 during an entire home dusty damp industrial remodel. Ran continuously 11 months. Worked well, built in pump drained directly into my basement sump pit. I Used my air compressor to blow clean the removable filter every 3-4 days but unit stopped working July 2020. I emailed customer service. They directed me to do some diagnostics such as emailing pictures of the LCD error codes and opening the unit to disconnect a thermal sensor. After a week it was determined this was not a quick fix. I was shipped a new unit which will continue under the original unit warranty stated for 5 years.
Customer service kept in email daily or every other day contact with me to either let me know there was a plan or they were working on a plan. They sent me the tracking number for the new unit. Once I got the replacement unit they followed up to make sure the problem was solved. Yes, It was solved. Customer service did a real good job of minimizing any anxiety that the problem might not be fixed.
Summary:
Company stood behind the product, honored the warranty, kept in contact, minimized anxiety , followed up.
Yes I do recommend the product and yes I would purchase again.
Product did “go down” but was run hard in a damp hot dusty industrial remodel.
I am very happy with the product and customer service, not just satisfied but happy, Big difference

This dehumidifier works almost nonstop in my crawlspace. A refrigerant leak developed after 1 year and 9 months of work. The customer service was fantastic. They walked me through the trouble shooting process and honored the warranty. I have a new one on the way.

I bought this for a large garage that 2 other dehumidifiers failed to adequately reduce the moisture content (they weren’t practical as the water reservoirs filled up too quickly). I needed a dehumidifier that had a hose and pump as the only logical solution. This one checked the boxes. After a season of use, I encountered an “E4” error and it would no longer work. I then had a chance to see how good their product support was. They resolved the issue within 1 business day and this was correspondence by email! No endless waiting on the phone to be disconnected multiple times. A replacement pump was sent and took me about 10 minutes to replace after watching a video that showed how to do it. The inside of this machine is heavy duty. No flimsy parts seen. This humidifier can run continuously for days if need be without issues. I wasted my money on other purchases as they couldn’t handle the job. Given the size and build of the pump, I can’t imagine it would break again and must have got unlucky with the original one. I would buy this one first if I had to do it over again.
