Only my onpion and experience here. I been running it for a few months now, and (so far) it works well at lowering the humidity in a 1,500 square foot basement. It’s quiet enough for me, I don’t hear it at all (except when I’m in the basement). Our basement is for storage, not a living space, so noise down there is not a concern. Mine came with an 11ft. cord, and I love that. The spec I had seen only list a 6ft cord, but, I’m glad for the longer one. The fan is smooth and no compressor growling noises yet. This model does not have a water bucket built in. I like that because without the water bucket, the internal components are not crammed in there. Mine is a direct gravity feed to the floor drain, so no bucket or pump. I’m very happy so far, but only time will know how good or awful this unit will really end up being.

This Aloair dehumidifier does a phenomenal job. We are currently using it inside our home until we get our crawl space encapsulated. Because we are having an issue with high humidity the dehumidifier runs constantly, and is putting out 7 gallons of water daily. You can set the desired relative humidity on the machine or in the app or it can be set to run continuously. Once the machine detects the desired humidity has been reached, it will shut off. You can monitor the machine remotely through the app which will also give you a history of humidity levels. The machine must be completely level or it will not drain through the supplied tube and the condensate pan will overflow. You must go online to acquire an owners manual; no instructions are included in the box. The machine weighs about 45 lbs and measures 19-1/“x12”x12”. It also has two carrying handles on the top of the unit. Unlike room dehumidifiers I’ve owned in the past, this unit does not emit any hot air. I highly recommend this unit and find it to be an excellent value.

I’ve used several of AlorAir’s commercial dehumidifiers, and they have all been a huge disappointment. Sure, they work fine at first, but as soon as a problem arises, good luck getting any help from the company. They boast about a five-year warranty, but in reality, getting them to honor it is a nightmare. Their customer service is terrible—there’s no phone support, only email, and they force you to collect an insane amount of information before they’ll even consider helping you. And when you do all that, it’s still an uphill battle to get any actual support.
They offer no parts for repairs and absolutely no technical help, which is mind-blowing for a product this expensive. And if you want a replacement, be prepared for a long, frustrating process. I’ve been going through their ridiculous warranty procedure for weeks now, and still no resolution. I’m warning everyone—don’t be fooled by the sleek design and initial performance of these units. Once something breaks, you’re completely on your own, and AlorAir makes sure of that. I will never purchase from this company again and am spreading the word to stay away from them at all costs.

Abruptly stopped working after two years. I have a support inquiry at the manufacturer’s, will update.
Update: after describing the problem to the manufacturer, I received a new motherboard and a link to a disassembly-reassembly video. The replacement got the machine up and running again, and it wasn’t hard to install. Full points for a responsive customer service team. Let’s hope it keeps going for longer now.

Is running continuously for several weeks to dry out crawl space. Works as expected, durable. The buttons to operate the device could be more clear how to use the device. The noise is okay. It isn’t super silent.

I bought this a few months ago to control humidity in my basement. It has done that very well. It took my basement from 75% rh to 45% easily. I keep it at 55% now to save power. There are 4 rooms in my basement. It is not small.
The unit is built well. I think it will last a long time.
I did have a problem with it reading humidity correctly. There was about a 10% discrepancy with other devices. Support sent me a new humidity sensor for free. That fixed the problem. It is very accurate at taking humidity readings now so it doesn’t run all the time.
I’d buy again.

I bought one for my basement when I bought my house and it has dropped the humidity from 70% down to where I have it set at 45% and kept it there ever sense. Recently on prime day I ordered one for my parents house and it’s doing the same for them as well. Easy to setup and use
