I have a small bedroom that I use as a workshop, with various tools that generate heat. (For example, a 3D printer.) While the extra heat is handy in the winter, it’s brutal in the summer. I felt it was high time I worked in comfort, and so I looked for the lowest priced air conditioner I could find on Amazon, which turned out to be this unit.
There is no remote with the model I ordered, and instead has only two manual controls: one dial for the temperature, and another dial that chooses between 5 modes. The 5 modes are: fan only low, fan only high, A/C & fan low, A/C & fan high, and OFF. These settings are fine, as I only will ever have it near max cooling with high fan speed when the room gets too hot. I had no need of a remote.
The blower vent can be directed left or right, but not up and down. The adjustable skirt fits in place nicely and slides easily to adjust. Although it comes with screws and bracket, I didn’t need to secure them, they stayed in place well enough. Though I did need to close up gaps where bugs might manage to get in. For this, I used some thin slivers of scrap foam I had laying around.
Mounting was very easy – it sits perfectly on my sill and the window sash holds it in place. Basically, I attached the top rail and skirts, opened my window just high enough for the back of the A/C to pass through the opening, and then slid it into place until the top rail butted up against the sash. I then closed the sash as far as it could go and checked to make sure it was sloping backwards about 4 degrees for condensation to run out. They included some sealing foam for the gap in the window sash, but I used my own foam for both the sash and around the skirting to seal up all crevices.
Overall, I’m quite pleased with the unit so far. The room is about 150 sq ft and it cools the room nicely even on a 90-degree day. It actually cools out into the hallway and stairwell, probably another 75 sq ft. It rarely gets hotter than 90 where I live, or I may have ordered something a little more powerful – I think it may struggle if it were much hotter than that. It’s not whisper quiet, but its not noisy either. It’s about the volume I expect from an air-conditioner this size. I actually have window fans that run louder. The 3-year warranty was only an extra $20, so I added that to my purchase.
If you need cheap, small and simple, I would absolutely recommend this unit.

All I know is, my room felt like a sauna for the last 3 summers, and ever since I got this and installed it in my window, my room feels cozy and cool like a hotel room. It was easy to put together the side flaps and top bar, and fasten to the window. Very simple and straightforward installation, just used a screwdriver, didn’t even need power tools. Highly recommend this affordable air conditioner.

I like that it keeps it cooler then without one, but it’s definitely made for a smaller room. I haven’t had any problems with it so far. Does anyone know how to clean the filter on it or clean inside of it?

This is a poorly manufactured window AC, frame is bent and out of line, the back metal mesh cover is dangerously sharp enough to cut your fingertip skin, minimal accessories, how cheap can you get.
2 dials for settings, high and low air flow, high and low cooling, very primitive for the price. My last AC lasted 20 years, do not think this one will.

I’m cooling an entire apartment (maybe 800 sq ft) from the living room. I think if you read between the lines on the 3-star to 4-star reviews (even some of the 2-stars) you’ll understand what you are buying. For the price point this is a 5-star unit. My only real mistake is that you have to be delicate with the outside heat sink. They will cut your fingers and bend over easily. Wear gloves and don’t touch the soft parts. Still 5-star. My unit is all analogue controls and they work just fine. The first 24-hours was at full blast and the past 2 days it’s been 30°C+ outdoors and 20-24°C indoors. Can’t complain at all – noise levels are exactly what you’d expect for the price point.

Really great, does it’s job decently well, not hard to install. It took me a couple hours the first time though, as the fan didn’t spin when I turned it on. I fiddled with it and poked the fan a few times, and after a while the fan spun and it has worked since. These units may need more testing before, though I’m not sure the cause.

Worked OK last year but this year won’t work
Junk and disposable
Fantastic design, easy to use –
This air conditioner cost me a little extra but has worked well for months. Similar products that cost near 100 functioned just like a fan, and never reduced the room temperature to an extent that I can sleep safe and sound. The only downside of the air conditioner is the loud fan sound, but to me it’s some white noise that even benefits my sleep quality, haha

I live in a very old house with horrible ventilation, we live in a part of the US where not many homes have AC, but in the summer our house gets really stuffy if it gets above 70 outside. There are not many windows we could use because thee are not many windows upstairs and most of the ones we have are swing out types, not sliding. The two options we had for windows was in one bedroom at the very end of the house or a small bathroom in the middle. I chose the bathroom, not having a lot of expectations for this small unity, but it worked wonders. I was expecting it to MAYBE cool the hallway and bathroom, but with an oscillating fan in the hall I was able to push the cool air produced by this machine through the entire upstairs, three large bedrooms, a hallway and the bathroom easily. It’s a powerful little machine that exceeded expectations.

The ac compressor itself makes a slight grinding noise. Sounds like plastic rubbing agaisnt eachother. Otherwisenworks great for the small room i have it for
Edit 1 day later;
The ac compressor seems to only make that noise for a minute and seems to work itself away. Honestly its good. Just remember its only 5k btu. Works great for my half room (pitched ceiling) upstairs. Good blowing. Light weight less than moderate noise. Its not silent by any means. I have it on low blow.
Very light too easy to handle. The acordiqn flaps arent sealed at all though.

I got this for my bedroom and it’s Amazing!! It’s quiet… It works fast to cool off the 11×13 bedroom.
There was no dents or damage of any kind. It’s perfect!

Iva held it about 3 months so far and it’s working great. It seems to do just fine in the 110 plus temps we have been having consistently. I turn it down a little just to give it a break in these temps but I’m sure it would be just fine either way. Great affordable budget ac unit. I use it on low haven’t really tuned it on high much because it gets too cold too fast. 😠smaller room 14 x 14 and working great. I also have a small fan to circular the air.
