I used to work as a housekeeper in hotels as my first job many years ago, and that is where I learned what an ozone machine was. After charging smokers $250 for smoking in their rooms, we would bring one of these bad boys in and let them run. They usually did an alright job, it is very hard to get smoke smell out but they were probably the best weapon we had against it. I don’t smoke now, but my place does seem musty from time to time so I decided to get one of these myself. As a test, I left some old smelly garbage in my place overnight, with the intention of taking it out the next morning and running this machine. Note: This unit also has a water function. I did not get it for a water function as the water why I’m at is pretty good quality, and will only be reviewing the Air cleaning functionality. However, after some quick online research apparently Ozone is a better disinfectant than chlorine – so I am curious to see it in action at some point.
Packaging/Presentation: This machine comes in a labelled cardboard box and includes the machine, power cable, instructions, a hose/tube for the water function which I’m not using currently, and a door hanger sign (it is recommended to not be around while this thing is running).
Use: It’s very easy to use this thing. I just plugged it in, switched the air button to “On” and set the timer which can go up to 120 min or 2 hours. Depending on the size of your place you may need more or less time. Did I need two hours for my one bedroom apartment? Probably not! I left for about 3 hours after turning this thing on as you should always do when using an ozone machine – ozone is irritating and people and pets are advised not to be at home while the machine is running. By the time I’d entered the doorway to my building, not even my actual apartment which was one floor up, I could smell the effects of the ozone machine. And after I opened my door, I could REALLY smell the effects. This thing worked very well. The odor from the garbage was gone. The smell after an ozone is… interesting. It almost smells like going to a pool area without the strong chlorine odor. Some say it smells clean and pure. Others say it smells almost too clean and pure and is thus weird or artificial. I tend to fall in the middle, but it is recommended to air your place out for at least 30 min after use as the effects can make some people feel icky.
Conclusion: This machine met or exceeded my expectations for its air cleaning properties, which is why I got it in the first place. I would possibly be interested in trying the water function sometime, but since I usually don’t have much use for that function where I am don’t hold me to it. I found the machine easy to use and intuitive, and it certainly did its job in my apartment (and half of my 3 story apt building it seems like when I first walked in)! I can attest to its air cleaning functionality, and would highly recommend it for that!

✔ Comes ready out of the box, basically just plug and use.
✔ Seems to be made of solid material and well constructed. A tad heavier than the ones I used at my old hotel job, but I wouldn’t say it’s heavy.
✔ Air purifying mode worked exceedingly well in my one bedroom apartment, though my apartment is admittedly quite small. Also extended out into the hallways with my door being shut!
Dislikes:
❌ The website instructions on this product page are great, but the instruction manual that comes with the machine itself is lacking and is more about safety and precautions than using the machine.

We recently partially finished our basement but there was a lingering odor that was still present. We’ve tried spraying industrial odor removal, but that only mitigated the odor to some degree. So we got this ozone machine in hopes to get rid of the odor once and for all. After carefully following the instructions and running the machine over the course of an entire week, the odor is now eliminated. Very pleased with the results and we will be utilizing this machine again, if the need to ever arises.

This ozone machine works very well to eliminate odors. I had some cat pee smell in a workshop I recently acquired. I cleaned and sprayed bleach all over but it still had a lingering smell to it.
I figured the smell had absorbed through the walls. So I put this in the workshop and it eliminated the urine smell completely. It did take about 3 treatments at the max setting (2 hours) for 3 consecutive days.
This stuff is strong so as soon as you set it and turn it on be prepared to leave the room or close the door. It will have like an electrical odor to it when it’s done so just either open a window to let it air out or just don’t go in for a day and the smell will dissipate. Overall, very impressed with this ozone machine. I highly recommend!

The AOBOCO Ozone Machine has been so helpful for keeping my home fresh and clean. With its powerful 28,000 mg/h output in air mode, it easily tackles odors and sanitizes large spaces up to 3700 sq. ft. I also appreciate the water mode for purifying water, which is super handy. It’s compact and sturdy, with a metal casing and a convenient handle for portability. The timer function is great for setting it and forgetting it. Just remember to ventilate the area for 30 minutes after use. I used it to kill cigarette smoke odor in a house I just moved into. The one room just reeked and I kept the door closed but when I got this machine I ran it for 120 minutes and left to run errands. When I returned – NO SMOKE ODOR! Fantastic.

Product arrived in a timely manner and was well packaged. I am still working on how to utilize for the best results in are scenario. We have a mountain retreat that mostly weekends in the spring, summer and fall are the times we are there. This has different capacities that I am currently testing , problem is that takes some time since I turn it on Sunday when we leave and it runs for a week when I am not there. In the short time that we have had it, we do notice a difference, however I am hopeful that as I learn and time passes we will see even better results. It is my understanding that it can not be run with someone there in the rooms. Over all to this point I am optimistic that it will clean the stale air in our summer home.
