Not what I expected! Highly rated by Consumer Report, runs quite noisily, hard for my 95 year old husband to figure out how to use it! Doesn’t heat as well as our other two. I would not buy it again,

This product was rated highly on consumer reports so I decided to buy it. I liked all of the features on the product itself. I felt that the remote control had a round shape that made it awkward to hold, and it felt like it might break easily. But I ended up returning the product because every time it rotated it made clicking sounds when it went to the left, but not to the right. I just imagined listening to that for hours and I knew that would drive me crazy. I was disappointed because I was excited about the product. I tried to replacement. The replacement was initially stuck in the most extreme point of the rotation. Then there was a slight rattle when it rotated. Maybe it would not bother other people but again for me because it was brand new I decided to return it. Luckily the return process was easy. It’s a nice tower and easy to use so if you don’t plan on using the oscillation feature or if the noises don’t bother you then it would probably work for you.

This heater works well. Instead of cranking up the heat for the whole house in the winter we put this heater in the TV room. So far it works fine.

It heats me on my couch in my living room ok… when it worked.
Complaints:
1. Mode button eventually got stuck and now it just continously cycles through the different modes. Happened within 2 months (maybe even just 1 month) of use
2. Not sure if this is the design, but sometimes it seems it doesn’t oscillate and get stuck at one side or is slow to come back. There was an instance when I actually had to tap it to move

Loud, and vibrates as if digging into the floor. At night, wakes us up every time it powers up to heat.
Stupid interface; you’ve GOT to read the manual or you’ll never figure it out. Setting a tempature is: ON (display lights up), MODE, MODE, MODE (temperature starts blinking), MINUS, MINUS, MINUS …. (till you get to the temperature you want). Then wait until display goes DARK!
Power-on default is to become a fan. ????
Oscillating? Sometimes, for a while.
Every button-press beeps loudly. Forget about adjusting it at night without waking your partner.
Looses all settings on loss of power: outage, on/off switch, or moving the unit. Start all over every day.
The display lights up while being set; then gets too dim to be read at all.
If we we weren’t in the middle of a cold snap, we’d send it back.

My husband and I live in an 1870 home in Massachusetts so as you can imagine, our home can be quite chilly and drafty. We have now purchased three of these heaters, and they are excellent! We swear by them to regulate the temperature in the room. Since we also have an 18 month, old son, that is very busy and active the tip over feature is extremely important to us. we have these heaters in three rooms and can count on them to keep us warm and safe. Personally, we do not use the remotes, but I can see how they are a great feature to have for those who might have mobility issues or not want to get out of bed to ensure their heater is on.

Works exactly as advertised. Easy to setup, nice safety features. Remote is NOT radio frequency rather, it is optical so you must have clear view of front of heater to control it. With that one caveat mentioned above, I am very satisfied.
