The touch-control remote isn’t as sensitive as the touch buttons on the console itself. The air conditioner is decently quiet and gets quieter on the whisper mode or eco mode. This air conditioner outputs air pretty well and it’s chilled how you expect an air conditioner to work. However I just received it yesterday in 75 degree weather in oregon. Not overloaded with humidity or anything I just wanted to try it when i got it. I waited 12 hours from when it got shipped to me to start it even though it looked like it was held upright and taken care of during shipping. Worked great, ran it for 2 hours on the bottom floor of my apartment. However i start it the next day and I’m greeted by a smell that can only be described as “fish”. Not fishy but exactly like fish. The smell might go away, I’ll even try cleaning the filter and I’ll update an edit with how it goes in the near future. I just think it’s not great that after 2 hours of operation and 24 hours in not that humid of setting equals fish smell. The unit so far is great and the only thing is this random fish smell. I haven’t had to use it yet but I can’t Express how important getting a supplementary protection plan is. Theres a 4 year coverage option available that covers for 4 years. You get 2 years of coverage from the manufacturer and the plan is supposed to “take over” once that 2 years is up. The plan says they’ll cover everything including shipping. Idk if they’ll cover shipping while the manufacturers coverage is active but even so. Its expensive to ship a like 80 pound item and with something this expensive to buy I’d rather wait 2 years to have it covered and fixed than pay even more in shipping than the protection plan costs. Also let’s be real. Within 4 years it’s likely you’ll need servicing anyways. Just wanted to give a heads up to future buyers.
Edit: the fish smell was gone when I ran it the day after. Idk what’s up with that. It may or may not come back. However before purchasing I wanted to let future customers know not to compare their air conditioners or window units directly to portables. WINDOW UNITS ARE INHERENTLY BETTER. With how they are manufactured and operate is different. Portables arent on the same level and if you’re expecting the same result you’re in for a bad time. Do your research. Single hose portables draw in air from inside and can cause air from outside to be drawn in. Dual hose units draw in air from the outside and avoid this problem. Getting an air conditioner depends on your humidity, area of room you’re trying to cover and the efficiency of the air conditioner itself. Keep in mind that portables were forced to have a different rating system from regular air conditioners and to look and verify the new ratings before purchase. For the price of single hose units this one appears to be the best if you cant go above $500-$600. Not many dual hose units seem to be available. However don’t get a portable and expect it to be just as good as a unit that if through a window or roof. This unit pushes out cold air and at a decent volume. May not make your whole area an ice box but if it can cool it from 90-100 degrees to a more manageable 70-80 it’s still worth it if you cant have anything other than a portable unit.
Second edit: I’ve used this unit multiple times and only had a fishy smell the one time. Still don’t know what that was about. However the air conditioner is good, has run clean of any smells since then and has done a good job of cooling off my livingroom / kitchen / downstairs area of my apartment. This seems to be the best buy that actually cools around this price range, going any higher will cost you a lot more. I’ve changed my review to five stars since that random fish smell hasn’t been an issue and everything has worked as expected. Kinda sad the touch remote isn’t as sensitive as the console itself but that’s just me and I won’t knock off a star for that as it still works reliably. Overall I’m happy about it even if it did cost a lot of money. Worth a try for anyone that can’t have a window unit or similar.

Bought this on behalf of my mom who is delighted with it. It keeps her new place cool and comfortable. Easy to hook up, nice to look at, snazzy remote control and it’s quiet. She doesn’t have to turn up the tv to hear over it like her last one.

This AC really is great! We have it set up in the bedroom and have a fan blowing out of the bedroom into the rest of the house (about 1000 sqft) and it keeps most of the house fairly cool even during 90-100° weather – and the bedroom is freezing. Love eco mode for warm weather but it’s not the best when it’s actually hot.
Pros:
-The dehumidifier feature is great.
-AC is COLD
-Eco mode is a great feature
-SUPER quiet
-Electric cost is very low
-It’s decent sized but not crazy big (see picture for small Siamese kitty size reference lol)
-The most aesthetically pleasing AC I’ve probably ever seen (definitely not what you want to base your purchase off of but still a factor)
Con:
Only thing I could find to be a very small downside is that the remote is a bit less sensitive than the buttons on the AC itself – but really not too bad and not a big deal.
Overall definitely recommend if you’re willing to spend a little more for the benefits of a portable AC!! (Can’t wait to see how the heater does this winter!)

This A/C is FANTABULOUS. It works like a charm and it’s true what they say about it being super quiet… it is! I liked its sleek looks and I wanted a black unit and this one has both those. It’s powerful and easy to assemble. As you can see in the pics, it was so hot in the apartment on the 4th floor with no A/C that when it arrived… I tore the box open in order to start the installation which really took no time. It does come with one of those sturdy plastic window kits but our windows aren’t the type of windows to accommodate that so I had anticipated that and purchased at the same time almost one of those screen door kits or you can find them in “portable air conditioner sliding door kit” and that was easy to install. There are some that sold for like 50-60$ but I got the 27$ one and it did the task at hand perfectly. Too early to judge if it will stay put over time but I’m confident it will. After installation, I sat back in my recliner and just watched the inside temperature go down on my weather stations in the apartment. Was it ever beautiful to see… and finally tonight, I am in bed early and I know I will sleep that much better with the cool air circulating. I might even be able to put my quilt back on my bed. That would be optimal. I also contacted Delonghi about the size of the hose and it’s 5.9 inches in case some of you have to purchase a separate window kit as well… because they come in various sizes although 5.9 seems to be the most common universal one. And Delonghi was quick in responding and their customer service is also very pleasant. I think over time, I will buy more Delonghi products. They have sleek designs and functionality in everything that they do and make. The one thing about this air conditioner though that I would have liked is that it would have come with a remote that has a digital screen on it. I feel as though that part is missing but for me, it wasn’t a deal breaker and I was willing to sacrifice and I did and I’m glad I did. I’m really happy even ecstatic about my purchase. And I got an Amazing Amazon deal on it too… Thank You Prime Days!!! And FYI… I did my research and some well known places to buy things like Air Conditioners have this very same unit for sale for almost 1200$. That made me feel really good that I’m a loyal Amazon shopper because my deal and the price point on Amazon was way better that 1200$ so I bought it with confidence. Sometimes… a little price research goes a long way and can help increase your buyer’s confidence when it comes to making the move and pressing “complete order now” online. Because, I consider this a mid-range major purchase. But myself… I needed one badly! It really wears its name “Penguino” 🙂 – MjM 🐧

When shopping for a portable AC, quiet operation was my top priority. This one fits the bill, operating quietly. The hose could be longer, but it works for us. We had to get creative and use a corrugated plastic board to make it fit our window since the included window kit wasn’t compatible. It’s not the cheapest option, but we got a discount, and I paid $712 total with tax. Despite the cost, we’re happy with our purchase and would recommend it to others.

So my review will remain a one star until either i get refunded, or a new one comes in and replaces the new unit i just got. The machine works great, blows cold, the only issue i had was that i was sent one that had damage. on the very bottom of the machine the plastic is cracked causing it to leak all over my floor. hoping everything goes smoothly and either I’m able to get it replaced or refunded. I will edit once everything goes through. Very disappointing to get an expensive unit damaged to the point of not being able to use it.

The unit we received was malfunctioning. Even on the lowest temperature setting, it was blowing cold air for only a few minutes (if that), then was blowing air that was even warmer than the room temperature. Hot air produced by the unit was not exhausted through the exhaust conduct.
I contacted the customer service hotline and they told me than I will have to bring the unit to a facility for repairs. Then they started a series of email exchanges that lasted for 3 weeks, with unclear and contradictory information. They unexpectedly ended up sending me a FedEx ticket to ship the unit to them, but with no further instructions. They never responded to my last email asking for a estimated time to receive a new unit, if I should send all the accessory parts with it and if I would have to pay for packaging (I didn’t keep the original box during the whole month since I thought I was going to bring the unit somewhere).
Off course, I was charged by FedEx for packaging ($30).
In short: probably an ok unit when it works, but slow and ineffective customer service.

The unit itself seems to work well for cooling our 400 sq ft bedroom. I like the sleep mode feature, which turns the fans low but still cools the room. The remote is a nice feature for setting a timer and temperature. We had a previous Delonghi that worked okay and was about 15 years old. I have had to tape the hose going into the AC Unit as it broke the first day hooking it up and won’t stay attached to the bracket that goes into the AC unit. I have shopped around for a different hose and attachment. My 15 year old Delonghi never needed duct taping on the hose and connection unit. In hindsight, I wouldn’t purchase this unit again due to the hose. It has a minor groove that it’s supposed to screw onto the unit attachment. The hose crumpled and won’t connect anymore.
