After testing out the Dreo Smart Humidifier for a couple of weeks, here’s my quick list of pros and cons for the item.
Pros:
– Listing this first, because it is perhaps the most important “feature” to me. You fill this humidifier up from the top, not from the bottom like other humidifiers I’ve used. This makes it super easy to use a pitcher or something to add water as needed rather than removing the storage tank, turning it upside down, and then having it leak on you all the way to the bathroom sink and back. This humidifier is a much better design.
– Very nice LED screen with touch controls. Creates a very modern look that isn’t an eye sore sitting on your dresser.
– Has an auto mode where you can set a target humidity and it will run until it reaches the goal, then turn off/on as needed to keep the room at that humidity.
– Also has a sleep mode that turns ambient light off and reduces noise to help you sleep better.
– Large capacity. With other humidifiers I’ve used, I was having to refill the tank every night. Utilizing the auto feature on this humidifier, I’m able to go 3 nights and I still have a little bit left over. For reference, I’m using it in a bedroom that’s roughly 160 SQFT and I’m setting the humidity to 50%.
– 3 fan speeds, so you can select the one that works best for you, or you can let the auto mode select it for you.
– Connects with Alexa and google home. Available smart commands include turning device on and off, changing between auto, manual, and sleep modes, changing fan speed, changing humidity setting, checking current humidity, and turning ambient lighting on and off.
– Ambient light is very soothing. It’s a calming blue hue that acts well as a night light.
– The lid can allow the mist to go straight up, or it can be angled towards the front or back of the machine.
– Dreo app is superb. One of the best smart device apps I’ve used. It’s user friendly and very simple to figure out how to use.
– App will show you charts of the humidity in your home during the last 24 hours and the last 30 days. These charts will show you whether your home is wet, comfortable, or dry. Also sends cleaning reminders for the tank, keeps track of filter life, and allows you to set schedules for the humidifier.
– Noise level is pretty negligible, even on the highest speed.
Cons:
– No native support for Apple Home.
Overall I’m very impressed with the Dreo Smart Humidifier. Everything about it works extremely well and it’s a very nice piece of technology. I’ll give it 5/5 stars and would highly recommend to others.

The humidity that was measured didn’t feel accurate to me and didn’t really match my hygrometer. So one of these devices isn’t quite right and I will not quickly blame one over the other. The numbers weren’t drastically different so it’s not a big deal for me. What is important is that the device works quietly and well. I also don’t have to refill it with water twice a day like with my other humidifier because of the large tank. I’m happy with this item so far.

This is a cool mist humidifier and is programmable in terms of the percentage of humidity you want is the air. You set the humidity level you want and it will stay on until it reaches that level in the room, and then will automatically shut off. Once that level drops it will turn back on, basically like those heaters that keep your room or home at whatever temperature you set by shutting off and turning back on when needed. You can also set a timer on this as well so I can fill it up earlier in the day and then set a timer for it to start whenever I want.
This unit can be used along with the accompanying app, personally I don’t use apps for products unless they force you to. And I’m happy to say that you do not have to get the app if you choose not to since it is fully functional without it. You have a full control screen on the unit.
The water tank holds a good amount of water, but also not so much that it takes up a ton of room. I can get anywhere from 2-4 nights out of a full tank depending on how high I have the humidity set and the size of the room.
The quality is quite nice, I have zero complaints about it. The only real think I’m not a fan of is it’s not easy to clean, and if you have had a humidifier before you know that these need cleaned pretty frequently (about once a week) to prevent mold spores from forming inside and those spores being pushed into he air in the room. This is definitely one of those units you will need to use tricks like bleach water or vinegar and running it outside, using drops to prolong the time between cleanings and to prevent mold growth. You also want to be mindful of stagnant water and should empty the water reservoir if your not using it for more than a day and fill it with fresh water since bacteria growth can easily happen in a short time and is just as bad as mold spores. All in all this is a nice humidifier!
