I bought this 30,000 – 60,000 btu unit along with a 30 pound new propane tank to heat half of my basement where I reload, shoot air pistol and tinker. The heated area is 1000 sqft and only gets down to the upper 50’s in winter since most of it underground. I wanted this to knock the chill out of the air and make it more comfortable to piddle around in the winter.
The heater is basically all assembled and ready to use out of the box. It starts easy every time and pumps the heat out. I can raise the temperature 10 degrees in roughly 10 minutes. It is a bit noisy but you won’t need it on for long to get your space up to temperature. It seems good on fuel, I’m still on my original fill of the 30 pound tank and use it pretty frequently in the winter.
The only issue I’ve had is occasionally the unit will light but the valve seems stuck on a very low flow rate, might be a safety feature that gets confused. It’s easily fixed by just turning off then on again.
I’d love to have a thermostat controlled mode. The heater is so powerful that even on the low setting I can’t keep it on for more than 15 minutes so I need to turn it on and on as needed. The cinder block walls suck the heat of of the air fairly quickly so it’s a slight inconvenience to turn on and off to regulate the temperature. Would also be nice if it were a bit more quiet but not sure how they could accomplish with it being a forced air heater.
Long story short it’s a great value, good construction, pumps out the heat, good on fuel and very safe so far. If mine breaks I’ll buy another hands down. I can’t imagine the much larger btu models, you could literally heat warehouses with them if left on.

I bought this heater to heat an area of my 1700 Sq. Foot barn where I have a work bench. I did not and do not expect to “heat the barn” – just to focus heat into an area when I’m doing work like paining things and such. I never expected it to work as well as it does!! Super easy to use – I had it going about 4 minutes after opening the box. So far, I’ve just used it on the low setting to conserve fuel – but on the highest setting of 60,000 BTU is practically a jet engine! It turns out that I could in fact heat the whole barn in an hour if I wasn’t concerned about using fuel!
Seems very well made, and is absolutely perfect for my application – spot heat in a big high-ceiling barn on a cold afternoon.
And yes, the igniter runs continuously – it’s that way by design for safety. It’s not loud at all like some have stated. The sound of the roaring flame inside the heater is way louder.
Great heater – great value – works perfectly

This item worked very nice, scary a bit at the beginning with the flames going out. 🙂
I had to go to my cottage in north without electricity, but with a generator I had excellent performance, and after only half an our, it was pretty hot inside, but need to be careful with this, and keep an eye on it. 🙂 Where I used it, it was clear space. The only inconvenient is that needs absolutely electricity to work…at beginning I thought it was only propane…

I bought this to take the edge off the cold in my 2 car garage with 11ft ceilings. It took the temp from -10c to +7c in about 15 minutes on high. It was a cheap and effective solution for my winter woodshop conundrum. I paired it with a quality co detector just to be on the safe side.

I purchased to heat a 700sqft finished garage with insulated doors. I bought the 30k BTU model (the smallest). It does not have a heat range adjustment like some of the larger models, but I understood that when I purchased it. Installation is as simple as hooking up the gas hose to the heater and to the bottle and plugging it in. I am using it with a 20# bottle from a BBQ grill. I didn’t use a thermometer, but on a day in the 30s, it warmed the garage up to around 65 in about 20 minutes of use. I was running it about 10 minutes/hour to hold close to that temp. It lit quickly with the piezo-ignition and I didn’t have any issues with it at all while it was running. If I run into any with more use, I’ll update. The unit is extremely light, has a nice handle, and wasn’t any louder than I expected. I could still hear my stereo fine and I wasn’t looking for silence. The adjustable height worked well as I went from sit to stand as it keep a nice warm breeze directly on you if you want. After a few minutes, I didn’t want that anymore, it was putting out plenty of heat. I also like that is was very obvious if there were any issues, as the flame is very visible. One note is that the power cord for the fan is only about 3 inches long, so you will definitely need an extension cord. That’s great for me since I have one handy, but if you were hoping to plug this directly into an outlet with no extension cord it won’t work. Overall very happy with it and look forward to many days of use over the winter.

I was using a 20,000 BTU kerosene convection heater in my 3 bay garage, which when combined with a ceiling fan, did an adequate job except for taking about 45 minutes to get to a comfortable working temperature of 60-65 degrees from an ambient temp of 35-40. I was hoping this heater would do as well, but faster and without the pains of dealing with and lighting the kerosene heater.
I had a problem with UPS. The tracking number stated it was delivered, but I never received it. UPS customer service said I had to work that out through Amazon. Amazon, as always was great, they immediately sent a replacement (this time through FedEx), and started an investigation to find out what happened the first one. I’ve only been living at this house 6 months, I later found out there is a similar sounding street, (Ave vs. Lane), with identical house numbers! I thought it had been stolen; now it looks like the wrong house may have gotten it.
OK, here’s the review. It came fully assembled, all I had to do was hook up the hose and plug in the power cord. I noticed it is rather flimsily made of thin sheet metal. When I plugged in the power cord (no switch), the fan didn’t turn. It turned out one blade was bent a little, and hit against a bracket, preventing it from turning. I pushed a wooden dowel through the rear, pushing the blade to straighten it enough to clear. Then I plugged it in and all was well. It was a simple enough fix, but shows poor quality control. It lit fine when following directions. Basically, just make sure the fan is running before lighting AND after shutting off the flame. It IS noisy, but not as loud as similar units. There’s no need to yell at someone standing next to you. I’m happy with it, heats up fast and less odor than the kerosene. The variable output is a nice feature and DOES work. My only question is how many seasons it will last. Any future problems and I’ll update this review.
