Good heater. Have had a few problems with the pilot light going out but it just needed cleaning. So far it works good.

This unit was installed on this past New Years Eve. It is very noisy, with a loud “boom” about 8 mins into the cycle. Also, the pilot light keeps going out, especially if I adjust the temp. dial. Had a heating professional come look at it today. He found the thermocouple was burned out, after only 3 months!!!! Even after replacing the thermocouple, the pilot went out 3x already since the workman left. He says must order other parts for this (new?) unit. There is NO phone # to contact customer support. You are directed to contact your dealer. Obviously Empire does not want to deal with customers who are unhappy with their crappy product. Also, it has a very industrial look about it, not the most attractive addition to my living room. I am a renter so have to deal with what my landlord gives me. Sucks big time.

Not happy with the quality of the thermostat control knob, it continually falls off, and to get the unit to kick on you have to turn the knob to 7. The installers were no help fixing the problem. I would stay away from this company and Lipton Energy.

Gift to my Dad as a backup heating system as required by law in Michigan. Actually larger than needed.

I bought this heater from an individual contractor who purchased it from Empire. Please beware this supposed heater. The pilot continually goes out . It came on once, pilot went out, repaired, came on once, repaired, came on three times, quit, repaired. All in the first ten days. Empire is rude and totally unhelpful basically says you’re stuck and they don’t care. Worst company. Worst heater.
Hard T. Please –
This unit has failed twice in less than a year. It’s a real pain to get it to ignite, even when it works. I seriously regret ever having bought this clunker ($2500 with installation).

Great heater, quiet when heating. Good as stated for large rooms. Empire have been making heaters forever. This is a backup for a wood stove. The installation instructions were perfect. I did have a plumber hook it up to propane and install the b vent chimney. Started right up.

Did not inform of needed conversion to natural gas cost added $200. Should tell buyers of necessary parts.
