Product works great for my 10×10 office and does what is intended.
The only reason why it’s a four is because the humming noise it makes is quite loud in a quiet room. It makes it hard to leave plugged in at night.

Limpia pero necesita estar en un enchufe por seguridad, no se puede usar con extensión

I was skeptical to buy this product because of some of the negative reviews but im so glad that i decided to give it a try.
– First off, yes this product does produce a noise when its on, but the reviews make it seem like its a massive intrusion when actually the sound is a very white noise like sound, after a day or two with it on with it on we barely even notice it.
– We have 2 litter boxes in our main room which make our whole apartment reek of cat pee and poop, we conveniently have an outlet right next to the boxes so we put the Germ Guardian there and in a bout a day the smell was gone. We were so surprised that this basic looking product made such a change.
– Lastly, the Germ Guardian does not emit a pungent smell, the only way we can describe the smell from putting our noses real close to it is that its the most neutral smell. Think of a waiting room of an office or something very bland. We have oil diffusers all around our apartment and that bland smell does not conflict or is even noticed with the scents we choose.
In Conclusion, if you have a smell room and you need to air it out, i highly recommend this product, its extremely easy to install, and is very effective

So I’ve researched which product I wanted to get and have owned several throughout the years. The old sharper image one from the early 2000s is no longer available in that model. I decided to try this small unit to see if it made a difference or ?? Plugged it into a room that I has no fan and no other way to ventilate and figured that would be a great testing area. I left it running and then went back into the room after an hour or so and the musty smell that always lingered there is gone. I then took it to the kitchen and tried it there for a couple of hours. Then took it to a different room. In each case the lingering odors were eliminated. Cooking odors did not seem to be affected by the unit as much as the stale smell that sometimes occurs when sponges are yucky. I ended up ordering more so that I can place in multiple rooms and move them if needed. Love that they have the replaceable UV bulb. So far so good and happy with the price point because the table top version is about the same cost and only covers 1 room while these cover multiple rooms for the same price.

I honestly was hesitant to buy this because I was like how is this going to work with no filter? My normal air purifiers are big with filters you have to change out. However, I got this and have now replaced all of my air purifiers to these! I have them in every room in my house and they are amazing. Super quiet but you can tell they are working. They keep my home clean or germs and pet odor. The one in my daughter room is by her diaper pail and keeps the air fresh where it otherwise wouldn’t be! LOVE THESE

I cool with a lot (some say too much – I’m looking at you El!!) onion/garlic, etc. and these really help remove some of the odors. I have one by the stove and one by the cat box. One of the reasons I tried this is so I didn’t have to change filters ($$) all the time. This uses a bulb that (supposedly) you replace one or twice a year. Deal!!

Writing a review for this item is difficult because I can not confirm how well it works in killing germs without special equipment. However, I can inform you of its aesthetics, how well it freshens the air, and its noise level.
Aesthetics
———–
The Germ Guardian looks great. It has a soft blue light ring (reminds me of the ring doorbell). It is a bit larger but I am able still able to use both sockets of my outlet so long as the Germ Guarding is plugged into the top socket.
The socket does not rotate so you can only have it arranged vertically. Because of its weight, I don’t know if I would try it with horizontal sockets.
The socket should fit all US outlets.
Air Freshness
—————-
I can smell the ionized air if I am within a few feet of it. It is currently in my 12×10 ft bedroom and there are no odors in the room. The air smells crisp – when I open my bedroom door – after I have been away for a few days. This seems to indicate the device works and would perform even better in a small room. I’m satisfied that the Germ Guardian is working as advertised.
Noise Level
————–
I have sensitive ears so most people may not have issues. The device is loud. For me, it is very loud. It is louder than my much larger Coway air filter. I often need to unplug it when watching television in my bedroom. This does turn into an advantage at night or when trying to sleep, as I am the type that appreciates white noise.
Conclusion
————-
The Germ Guardian is peace of mind during flu season and especially now with COVID. It does freshen the air but will perform best in smaller rooms. The device is large but still looks great. The device is loud and sounds like an overheated CPU fan.

It seems like a neat little device. The UVC lamp seems to do its job, of sterilizing the air that passes through the appliance. I picked this up for the general cleanliness of the house. The fan is definitely cheap or installed cheaply, as it makes a pretty decent constant rattle for little bit of air it moves.
One thing about the appliance; the advertising of the product is a little misleading. Yes, this may help disinfect the air of your house since UVC does destroy biological organisms that are within range of the light, in a close enough proximity to the bulb. With this GG1100B/W it should only effect what goes through it. In other words, if you have a funky old gym bag in the corner of your room; this will do little to nothing for the gym bag stank! It will not ‘seek out’ the bad smells or ‘germ’ sources. Ozone would be better for that. However, Ozone is poisonous to humans and pets. The concentrations to sterilize a house would also be lethal to you.
I like this device for the placebo peace of mind of a device actively keeping any spores or airborne ‘baddies’ under control.
