Bounces from 450 watts to 550 watts to maintain the temperature in a 15×11 room.
The Midea window unit will do this with 100 watts.

MUCH quieter than the specified number. I got less than 20 db on Low from just a few feet away and 10 db across the room. It’s even lower with the Quiet setting. A few days in it stops being noticeable.
There are caveats though:
You will probably have to cut the hard plastic shields to make them fit correctly, since the range of window sizes they fit normally is not sufficient. It looks like they measured the main piece wrong and made the wrong combination of inner and outer pieces, so the extensions are too small or too big for windows around 36 inches wide, give or take several inches.
It doesn’t dry the air as much as other AC units. Which means it makes the relative humidity go up, as it makes the temperature lower. So sometimes the room can feel a bit clammy.
Once in a while it decides not to cycle off and cools until you catch it and power-cycle it.

I bought is portable Hisense unit for contingency purposes if my A/C were to go out. I tried it with the house A/C working and it could only get my properly sized 350 sq.ft room temperature about 8-10 degrees cooler than normal house A/C or about 71 degrees. This made me doubt its cooling capacity on it’s own, even though it was putting out plenty of cold air.
Well, our house A/C went out last week for 36 hours before it was repaired. This A/C did a great job and got the room down to 71, but this time on it’s own with outside temps in the mid-high 80’s. Didn’t think it would do it, but it did. Also very quiet and never had to drain condensation tubes, even though we live in high humidity on the Gulf Coast.

when the a/c goes, these come out till repair man can get here. We have a single hose Hisense that we got from lowes that cost double of this 2 hose. Both are same style and can be programmed/sync using wifi app. Comparing both – the 2 hose seems to work better with cooling. The 2 hose is much quieter. Kindof sounds like lawnmower being used at neighbors house. vs Single hose is much louder having to turn tv way up to hear over a/c.. You DO NOT have to drain these. Which is huge bonus for me. Might still try to get another 2 hose to use in tv room and put the loud single hose in another room. All in all this was a good purchase. when a/c goes out these do work well. my renewed amazon 2 hose did come with window kit and hoses as stated in description. I’m happy with these and staying cool until repair man can get parts to fix my central a/c. Also during power outages I can hook into my Ecoflow solar power battery generator and still stay cool. win win!!

I recieved my AC in August but never was able to use it in my +95° F. attic! The Amazon ad stated it would fit windows 18″-50″. The instructions that came with it had that printed too. My window is 22″ so it should have fit. The kit piece they sent was 24″. I contacted the refurbisher, Hyper Microsystems. The customer service guy gave me the run around for weeks, the quit answering me entirely! Then I contacted Hisense, the manufacturer. No answer at all. So in desperation I bought a kit for an extra $40 that I can hopefully cut. By the time I recieved that, the need for the AC was done for the season! Lesson learned, I had an expensive giant paperweight to look at while I sweated my butt off for 2 months.!

1. Initial thoughts
The unit came packaged as if its packaged brand new. This was extremely pleasing as I did by the unit as a refurbished unit on sale. But from my understanding, lotta units that are sold as refurbished could practically be a scratch and dent return or maybe the box was damaged. Whatever the case is, I trust Amazon sell me a good product and they usually follow through pretty well with obvious exceptions to the rule here and there. The unit is a little bit heavy, but any normal woman man of stature could be able to pick this up pretty easily.
2. Setup
Set up is decently easy if you understand really anything mechanically. The directions are pretty good, and clear on what/ what not to do. You may have to finagle the window, slat a little bit to get it to seal correctly, but it does come with foam and beetle tape to ensure you have an airtight seal. Quite literally is “plug-in play.”
3. Usage and performance.
I am in south Florida on the beach. The climate that I’m in is extremely taxing on anything that has to do of cooling such as refrigeration or air conditioning. Normally, the humidity index is around 60 to 70% with an exterior temperature of 95° in the shade. This unit performs extremely well with all that being said and done. Its quiet, and very high-performance and handling heat thermal load.
4. Have a real big question my power bill
obviously, the reason not most people would probably buy one of these either to help with cooling because it’s just hot as heck or because they want to save some money on the power bill instead of running their central air at all times. My power bill went from average of $11 per day down to $5.30 it immediately within the first day of using this unit to call my master bedroom down at nighttime down to 73 to 72° F. This is also running this unit on fan speed high, MODE -COOL. I do believe it’d be a lot more efficient and save you even more power if I was to run it at 74° fan speed on automatic and mode on automatic. Our consumption is somewheres around 400-500w/hr. This is only a FRACTION of what my central air conditioning uses (6,500w/hr.) obviously a split unit or a window unit with the same inverter technology, such as the Midea-U Will be even more efficient than this. But the reality is that it’s going to be a lot more expensive to buy/ install initially. For a four AC that is sub $200, dual tube, and digital inverter scroll compressor… i’m very impressed and very happy.
5. The summary
I would buy this again. This is a great unit to save you power and really icebox your room out. This unit is cheap quiet very powerful and very efficient.
There will always be more efficient alternatives, but in reality, it’s not by much. At least at this point, not enough to offset the cost of buying an entire split unit and then paying someone to install it and then paying someone to wire it up. If you want to save on power, this will cut your power bill in half as long as you don’t run your central air. My Central air conditioner is set at 78F at night.
