The only way to remove water from the air (humidity) is to transfer it to something/somewhere else. This Canister Dehumidifier will entrap it. You might need several of them, depending on how well sealed your safe is, how large it is and how much humidity you have in the air.
Pros:
* It will remove the humidity from the air by entrapping it.
* It becomes pink when it is saturated.
* The container is well built/designed.
Cons:
* You might need several of those, which will take a good chunk of space from your safe.
* You will need to dry it pretty often. I am in California, which is pretty dry and I still need to put it in the stove after a few weeks.

The first one I received was damaged inside the Hornady box just like another review said, but that’s not really a big deal because Amazon replaced it right away.
Otherwise It works really well, after leaving it in my safe overnight it dropped from 67% down to mid 50s. My only real complaint is it doesn’t seem to last long, I’ve had to recharge it twice in 2 weeks.

Used this in a very small gun safe . Dropped 20% humidity in 12 hours down to 31%. Very happy with this product

I have 3 of these in my safe that is approximately 4x4x6 ft. I put one in and it dropped the humidity from around 47% to 37%. I wanted to have longer intervals between needing recharges, so I got 2 more. When I placed the additional 2 (total of 3) in the safe, the humidity dropped an additional 7% down to around 30%.
I have a Govee wifi monitor in the safe and set the alarm to let me know when the humidity reaches 40% again so ill know when they are saturated/needing to be recharged. FYI, the Govee Bluetooth-only monitor did not have a strong enough signal to read through the safe even only 10 feet away, had to be right up against it.

Good option for those with no power supply in their safe. I’m not sure what the long term effectiveness of this product is but for those looking for at least some basic protection from moisture in their safe, then this seems like a viable option.
