I brought this air purifier for my sons room as he had bad allergy. I wasn’t sure if it would be enough for the room, but we have it for a week now and it’s working great. The size is perfect for the room not too big or too small. I love the modern design with the hand touch on & off on the side. It was easy to setup – my 10 years old son put it together. We have it sit on top of their book case between the beds and so far I haven’t see any dust in the room – with 2 boys in the room it usually get dusty even a day after we clean. Best part, my sons have stop coughing – no allergy – YES! The price is not cheap but definitely worth the money – I going to have to save up to get one for my room next.

The product is quiet and easy to use. This small enough to fit on a desk without issues. Do not believe the shipping times. Ordered on the 15th was told it would arrive on the 17th, then the 18/19th and finally arrived on the 20th. they did not seem to care and only stated shipping times are 3-5 days. This is not what was stated when ordered for a gift.

Works as promised. IQAir has quality stuff but you have to pay for quality. This little machine is on my desk every day and keeps my work bubble breathable in a dusty old industrial office complex.

We bought this product after much research hoping to have a unit which would clear a small area of VOC (dryer sheets, fabric softener, perfumes, deoderants, etc…). We know the filter shipped with the Atem was not designed to help with VOC so be also bought the replacement activated charcoal filter which should help with VOC. What a huge dissapointment when we turned it on and “Morning Mist” (name your poison) wafted from the machine. Maybe they dip it in something to cover the smell of the plastic or circuitry or maybe the filter has a scent impregnated in it to give the impression of “fresh air” but if you are trying to avoid or rid your personal space of chemical smells, this will not do it but actually make it worse. We are willing to spend just about anything to help with this problem and the Atem is about 10x more expensive than all other personal air purifiers. It probably does a good job of filtering the air from dust and pollen but it does emit a smell (think truck stop urinal cakes) that obviously nobody on the design team had an issuse with. We had high hopes. It is nicely designed and small enought to travel with but the toxic smell is a deal breaker and headache maker.

I really like the purifier itself, but after less than 6 months of use, it started flashing red saying to replace the filter. Amazon doesn’t sell the filters – you can only buy them on the IQAir website for $79 a piece. I don’t know that I would have invested in the purifier if I had known the filters were so expensive.

I own two IQAir Health Mate Pros, which are the most effective air cleaners available, but a little bulky for trying to take on an airplane. When this came out, I had to give it a try. Happy to say that I’ve traveled with it three times, just packed in a bag, and it has given me blissful sleep on the pillows, sheets, and mattresses where I was staying.
You need to set this up close to your head. It’s not meant to clean the room, but to produce a zone of clean air around your head. On the highest of the three settings, it’s audible, but that’s about all. On the two lower settings the sound is barely noticeable.
The quirks: (it wouldn’t be IQAir without quirks) First, you plug the cord into the side of the unit and into the wall. You may need an extension cord in some hotel rooms, to run the power from the outlet to your face. The cord is reasonably long, but for some hotel rooms may just not be long enough. So bring an extension cord.
The stand is actually cool. But, when you attach the disc-shaped unit to the stand, it doesn’t really CLICK into place. Rather, it SLIPS into place. Result: If you try to pick up and move the unit, the stand may fall off. It’d be nice if it had some kind of positive attachment to the lozenge.
I have no idea, obviously, how long the filter will last. I do know that I’m really glad to have this, and believe it will open up a world of travel that I thought I had lost.
Edit: After a few months of ownership, I decided to try using this in my bedroom, every night, to help me sleep. The good news is that it works as well at home as it did in a hotel room. The bad news is that the filters don’t last long at all. I run it on the highest speed, 3, for about 8 hours each night, and after about a month I’m starting to clog up and wake up coughing. Nor is it a slow decline. Rather, one night I’m fine, one night I struggle, and then it’s hopeless. Too bad. But if you look at the filters you can see that they are rather small, without much surface area, and so it’s no surprise that they fill up quickly.
Once again, others whose allergies are somewhat less savage than mine may get more out of each filter. But this will be my travel filter rather than every day. I will not reduce the rating, because this was an unknown rather than an expectation, and this will still be the ultimate travel air purifier. But if you use it for travel, you may want to track the number of hours use, and when you get near to 250, swap it out if you’re about to go on the road.
Edit #2: The really interestingly-shaped filter sits inside this thing wrapped around the top and the back side, which I realized might cause problems with filter longevity. Why? Because dust can settle out of the air directly onto the filter, by traveling down. Unlike the big tall house-sized units that I also reviewed. So I started putting a plastic bag over the unit when not in use.
Good news! Doing this about doubles the filter life for me. Going from one month to two months per filter is definitely worth it, given that all I do is put a trash bag over the thing. It still costs me about a dollar a night, but my sleep is so much better that it’s worth it.
Edit #3: After about a year of use I noticed that filter life was starting to tank. When you change a filter, you’ll notice a second, smaller lift-off cover that has a little curved piece of styrofoam under it. This is the muffler, to reduce the already miniscule amount of sound the unit produces. Trying to clean this made it worse, but removing it entirely resolved the problem, and the unit is barely louder. So you may want to consider ditching this. It doesn’t seem to be a replacement part, but I plan to go to the hardware store, buy matching foam, and cut out a replacement. I’ll let you know.

It’s the best technology out there so just for that I’m happy. And yet, the stand has no way to be secured. Bump into the thing and it falls apart. I think this was designed as a car thing and later on they skimped on the stand as an afterthought. I was very, VERY surprised to find in a Swiss device something so poorly thought out. I engaged their support and they were nice but they didn’t have a feature request process. So if you buy this, make sure its out of the way and not too high cause it it falls on the floor God help your wallet 😅

My apartment has carpet and my allergies always act up. I am very sensitive to dust! I have bought a few air purifiers before but they have always been so loud and never really worked. This air purifier is everything that I wanted! The fan noise is barely noticeable. It has a bluetooth function and an app (you can turn off the blue light in the app if you are sensitive to light when you’re sleeping).
Setting up the machine was really easy. It took less than 3 minutes to set it up. Turning on the machine just takes a tap on the side and you can also tap the side to change the fan speed. It also came with a bunch of power outlets so you can use it anywhere in the world. The vertical stand is great because it can fit on my computer desk without taking much space. I will probably buy the bigger one for my living room next.
Overall I am very satisfied with this air purifier and would recommend it to anyone that has allergies!

Purchased this to improve the air quality in my dusty home office close to oil refineries that I’ve been forced to work in since to covid. Made a huge difference in concentration, headache, sore throat, etc that the poor air quality was causing. I have multiple chemical sensitivities and have tried several other mid to high priced air purifiers (Austin air, aller air, winix, Honeywell insight, levolt) and the IQ air purifier is the best so far. I’m sold on iq air and will be purchasing the Health pro plus for the rest of my condo.
There was a very strong chemical smell that thankfully went away after one day of running the atem on high.
The Bluetooth app is great and the base is stable and made of high quality material. Not sure why other reviews said otherwise.
Definitely recommend this product.

It cleans the air but disappointed in the small area it covers.
