I was warned by other reviewers but thought to myself: “Tom, you’ve been using kerosene heaters for over 30 years and the fundamental design has remained unchanged over the decades. How can this heater be THAT bad?” Now I know the answer. Like everything these days, a formerly reliable and quality product has been “value engineered” into a total POS just to milk every tenth of a cent in profit. So that there is no confusion, I have only used K-1 kerosene as instructed since purchasing this unit last month. It worked flawlessly for the first few weeks until I stared noticing that it wouldn’t stay lit. Then, the release mechanism started gumming up until now IT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. Today, it filled the entire house with heavy smoke and set off my carbon monoxide detector. I’m sick and tired of lining the pockets of one of the richest men on the planet who seems unconcerned with the quality of the sellers utilizing his platform. Starting today: unless I’ve ordered an item before or the total cost is less than $50, I’M THROUGH taking a chance on Amazon. Now I hear they want to add commercials for Prime Video. (guess I might as well go back to cable). The ONLY positive thing from this experience is that my housekeeper has no excuse for missing cobwebs near my ceilings. They are now totally black for everyone to see thanks to the smoke!

Heater was delivered one day early, was easy to unpack and set up and easy to use. Produces good heat. I plan on using this heater for emergency use.

This unit is both clean and efficient, mostly radiant heat with some convection moving off the area around the front grill, the removable 1 gallon tank makes it easy to take outside for refill if necessary. MY only complaint is the price which is no longer in the $125 range! I paid around $150 for my unit and the prices seem to keep rising! I suggest you do an hour of burn in outside the first time you fill it up, a slight odor of kerosene is noticeable on start up and shut down.

I works nice to help warm the area on a cold night. Sometimes it is hard to get the wick up good to light it. As for the smell we have been using these heaters for years. We are use to the smeill on the most part. Main thing is it heats the area we want heated and then some.

This is no longer offered so I did not return it.The problems did not affect performance.it came with a dent in the front of the top of the cabinet and the siphon hose had a leak in the flexible fill hose.
I bought it as a back up to a dyna glo kerosene heater, they look identical, except for the labels. I fired it up outside to get the new burned off, and then removed all kerosene from tank , dry burn wick and put away until next winter.
I am amazed at some of the reviews I’ve read, these heaters have very few moving parts , simple to operate and efficient if your not a moron.
People just need a little common sense, and be smarter than the equipment you are operating.

I use this heater in my own house. It is wonderful for the money. It heats my living room wonderful.

Instructions sounded a little complicated but once you get started it is easy to have the heater up and running in a few minutes. Kerosene smell is minimal with the low odor fuels available today and the heat output is pretty impressive.

The mechanism that causes the wicked to go up has already broke..I have to keep twisting it back-and-forth until it finally catches other than that I love this little heater I love that the tank comes out is perfect but I’ve only had it a month and that’s broke and I didn’t get the insurance so I guess I’m going to take it somewhere and try to get it fixed it might be cheaper to buy me another one.. Warning the mechanism probably won’t last over a month
