   The original one had gone out a while ago. I never really bothered with it as the kerosene heater was in the garage and I only used it occasionally. For its little use I just used a torch that I had right next to it. I recently had to replace the wick. While I was in there I said why not just order one. For the price it is worth it just to replace when you replace the wick. It fits with no issue. It work first attempt. So yes I would recommend you just replace it. It is as easy as a light bulb once you are in there.

   I’d never replaced the igniter before and this was a perfect fit in my Dyno-glo kerosene heater. I watched a how to video on YTube and it was a fast and easy replacement. Fires right up!

   Ordered these after the original one broke. The install was easy, I can now disassemble the unit in the dark. Within 10 minutes my wife could again just press down on the foot panel and light the heater. Momma’s happy, we’re all happy.

   Great value. Easy to install.
   Works very well. Caution is to not use alkaline batteries with this as they supply too much power that burns out the element.

   There are two things that will prevent your kerosene space heater from working. #1. The wick being used up & needing replacement. #2. No ignition. This igniter is just like a glow plug in a model airplane engine or a diesel. Not glowing won’t ignite the fuel (kerosene) and results in no iigniterflame. This is just a “push & twist” installation. Just like a small lightbulb. Also make sure your power source has enough voltage (batteries) to power the glow plug (igniter). This is an ideal replacement and a easy install. I’d keep a spare on hand for the future.

    Fairly easy to install, especially if you’re replacing the wick. NOTE: The thin filament is very sensitive to over-voltage and will quickly burn out (even instantly) if you use batteries that supply more than 1.5 Volts per cell! Brand new alkaline or lithium batteries will burn it out like a flash bulb. In fact, the instructions tell you not to use alkaline batteries.

    A voltage or current limiter would solve this issue but it’s not likely the manufacturer would include it due to cost.
