There’s been a heat wave in nyc the past week and a half. I’ve gotten to test this AC in some 95 degree northeast temps, and it has done admirably well. For the record, I live in a 515 square foot, one bedroom (three rooms) apartment. I previously had a 10000 btu air conditioner which couldn’t cool very well.
Meanwhile during this heatwave I was able to reach some pretty respectable temps in the 70s. It would have been nice if this was smart with app/alexa compatiblity. As-is it and its remote is fairly basic and no frills.
Otherwise my only semi-complaint is the noise. I’ve seen other reviews say this is somewhat low noise. I don’t think so. It is somewhat loud. Living in nyc, I can easily mark it as white noise, but if you need silence, this is not for you. At the same time, I’ve never seen a through the wall that I would call silent.

I replaced my 15 year old unit & searched for same make/model. Have had it for 1 month & works great. Keeps living room/dining room area close to 550 sq ft very cool/cold and comfortable for these blazing summer days. Noise level is always going to be on the louder side because this isn’t your normal central A/C. But overall, noise level is way better than the last. Loving the remote control feature on the new model. Would totally recommend, very happy!

Purchased this to replace a 10 year old Kenmore unit. Installation was plug and play and the unit started blowing cold air right away. All was well until the temperature got above 85 outside and the unit suddenly stopped blowing cold air. It displayed no errors and showed no other indication of failure. I spent hours troubleshooting to no avail. As of today, I am stuck with this broken unit after having paid money to have it professionally installed. Amazon offered me a measly 20% of the price to keep the item or ship it back at my own expense (likely more than the cost of the unit). Luckily LG warranty is sending out a repair tech, however, for a new product this is simply unacceptable. Buyer beware of purchasing large heavy items from Amazon as they will make you pay for shipping no matter how defective the product they sold you it. P.S. It is super LOUD!
UPDATE: 7/1 Repair tech was sent out and “educated” us on the unit’s proper operation i.e. told us that if it was too hot outside and inside then the unit may not work properly since it’s working too hard. The unit vents out under our deck which he says is the problem but when I mentioned that our old Kenmore unit worked fine for 10 years before crapping out he explained that “they don’t make them like that anymore” i.e. in working order. STAY AWAY FROM LG. THE BRAND NO LONGER DENOTES REASONABLE QUALITY.

This air conditioner went into my wall with ease, it cools off my whole apt. My feet actually get cold! I love it, a bit pricey but was so worth it for me.

I purchased this unit last May of 2023 (less than a year ago) and the amount of cool air which it produced is only fair. This was noticed from the beginning. It’s very warm in my son’s room where we have placed this unit due to the heaters on during the winter months, so we run the AC a lot to cool it. I have come to find out, it doesn’t work when the temperatures are even slightly below freezing. We had a Frigidaire which was in the room when we purchased the apartment so who knows how long it was there prior. It worked wonderfully in any type of weather outside for almost 14 years and probably more as I said it was in place when we purchased the apartment. It was run constantly and there were NO issues. Wish I could find it again. I will never purchase a LG Air conditioner and will recommend others not to as well. I’m very disappointed in the performance. I will say their customer service is helpful and very good, they can’t help that this product isn’t.

I bought this unit to cover 300sq ft. Hoping it would do the job . It has been hot n humid here all week and I still have it set on Energy saver. I don’t leave reviews. But this unit is impressive

Worst AC I’ve purchased in my life. I unfortunately bought two of these for two separate rooms and to my dismay they both suck. To start, both units are very loud, and I mean as loud as a giant PTech unit I had in a previous apt; the eco feature is beyond annoying— the ac basically shuts off and turns back on every few minutes whether or not it has gotten the room to the indicated temp (which makes no sense, it should keep running until it gets to the temp you set and then turn on as needed to maintain that temp); and neither until cools that well— the 800 btu unit is struggling to keep a 350sq foot room at 75 degrees. The only plus is these look somewhat “modern” when compared to anything else available on Amazon (as of May 2024 at least). Disappointing considering I have a lot of other LG products in my home and they all tend to be pretty good. My advice: AVOID this AC
