This summer has been loaded with heat waves, here in NJ>. I know I didn’t use my old A/C last year as much as I did this new one this year – and the difference in my electric bill is staggering. The energy efficiency of this particular model is great. I don’t know why the control panel and remote have control buttons in different places. In my mind, if MODE is on the left on the A/C, it should be on the left on the remote. It isn’t the quietest thing I have ever heard, but for me it isn’t a big distraction. The noise level is “reasonable.” After a very long hot summer, this has performed much more efficiently than expected. I’m pleased

It fit right into old sleeve. I like having a remote since unit is low on the wall and I used to have to get on my knees to adjust. Doesn’t seem to be super powerful for my 400 sq ft room, but it will do. So far satisfied.

I had the same experience as Matt Punk. Sadly, I bought the unit over Memorial Day and didn’t use it for weeks because it wasn’t warm enough so I didn’t notice the design flaw until it got into the 90’s with high humidity. Now my return window has expired. It overheats and shuts down with the error code CH34. LG’s website suggests that the error code relates to the coils being dirty or the unit needs shade from the sun. Well, the coils are not dirty because it is brand new and the sun doesn’t hit that side of the building. Plus we only run it at night because it’s in our bedroom. I called LG customer service and they tried to tell me the same thing. She finally agreed to send someone out to look at the unit and the repairman arrived yesterday. He told me that he sees tons of CH34 error codes on units that are in a sleeve and proceeded to tell me that the sleeve is the problem (it is old). However, when he pulled out the unit he admitted that the louvers for the heat to escape are substantial enough and that it really shouldn’t be overheating. He actually told me that if I had purchased a Frigidaire or Friedrich, we most likely would not have this problem. I think that the fan in the unit that blows the hot air out does not blow hard enough for the air to leave the sleeve so it just stays inside resulting in the overheating. Not a defect, said the repairman, so we are stuck. The design of this air conditioner is flawed. He also told me that LG is aware of the problem, but doesn’t want to go through the hassle and expense of a recall. You will regret spending your money on this. I sure do.
Incidentally, we have a Frigidaire in the living space and it has the same sleeve conditions as in our bedroom. No problems whatsoever.

Our A/C showed up on time, installed easily, and works flawlessly. Caution with the 115v as it does not have a traditional 110 plug-in.

I purchased two of these air conditioner units to replace older ones in an apartment building. The units installed easily into an existing sleeve. We did have to prop up the units at the back of the sleeve, but after the first one was installed, the second one went in much faster. Both of the tenants have expressed that they love these new air conditioners. They indicated that they are much quieter than the previous units and don’t cycle on and off as much. They also like the remote that comes with the unit as the placement of the a/c’s in the wall are not very accessible, so they are able to turn it on and off or adjust the temperature by remote. We are very pleased with the price, fast shipment, and quality.

Liked the comparatively light weight, esp. if you’re self-installing as a replacement for an older unit. Note: if replacement and using the existing wall frame, be prepared to trim down the existing frame internal seals. If at all possible, DON’T REMOVE THE NEW UNIT CASE! It will be much quieter. Kudos also to the supplied trim and shim material. The latter is to tip the unit forward to ensure proper condensation draining.
