When I got this delivered I plugged it in to test the cooling power & it worked GREAT!! BUT when I got it all installed & yes I followed the instructions to install to a T… the cooling & dry options ONLY COOLED FOR ABOUT 5 minutes then the “cycling” began of not cooling and then cooling for 5 mins, repeat.. I figured I’d leave it on for a few days to see tif it just needed time to cool the area. BUT NOPE I’ve had it set to 60degrees the lowest temp it goes to on dry and cool options and the temp remains at 74degrees for 2 weeks now! It’s cooler outside than it is in my home. Mind u I ALSO have 3 fans going to circulate the air and another ac about 20 feet away in a different room. Tried with no fans too and bc of the “SMART AC” it is it WONT STAY COOLING CONSTANTLY!!!! Also when I picked it up to install it in the ac place I have made in my home after testing it out, a WATERFALLLLLL OF WATER POUREDDDD OUT OF THE AC ALLL OVER ME AND THE FLOOR! I’m talking ABOUT A GALLON OF WATER! I don’t understand why it cooled perfectly with no cycling when I tested it out but now that it’s installed it’s performance it NON EXISTANT!! Veryyyy DISAPPOINTING AS I HAVE another LG air conditioner from about 10 years ago that out performs this one by a zillion%!! Will have to return it I guess after ALLLL OF THAT WORK I DID TO INSTALL IT! DO NOT BUY THE THIN Q LG AIR CONDITIONERS BC YOULL STILL BE SWEATING SITTING RIGHT IN FRONT OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got this because the 30 year old 25,000btu window unit iny old house finally failed. This AC is really good and cools really well.
I’m a bit nervous about it though.
– Sounds like water sloshing when it turns on but none is visible anywhere.
– The blower fan was crooked a bit when I first got it (possibly a drop during shipping) but it was easy to push into the correct position.
– The front of the unit was dented despite there being no damage on the box itself so the dent had to be from the manufacturer. Had to use plyers to bend the metal into place so the front cover could be attached.
– For some reason the clean filter light has been lit up since a week after using it despite the filter still being as clean as when it was taken out of the box.

I have 2 of these and they both do the same odd start up noise when they first begin to operate every time. They are noisy but make a great cold wind and do the job well.

Reviews are meant to be about the equipment itself, not about other related experiences like delivery, but I’m going to add a caution here.
This is a big heavy unit, shipping weight is 146 lbs. Bear in mind that this unit is going to be handled by a single person on its journey. That means it’s going to be end over ended a fair amount. The packaging is quite strong, but it will get knocked around a fair bit on its way to you.
My first unit was a bit banged up but the unit only had minor cosmetic damage but unfortunately after I’d installed it, with much hard work, it didn’t work! Bugger! And that was at the start of a heatwave.
I called out LG under warranty because I didn’t want the hassle of returning it, and we discovered that the fan was jammed against the housing. It had to be returned.
If you return something to Amazon, it has to be packaged, and fortunately I’d kept the packaging. It was no easy feat to repackage but I got it done.
The unit was replaced quickly and the replacement packaging was banged up too, but the unit was fine.
So what’s the message here? Just be aware that it’s big and heavy and it may get damaged in transit. Keep the packaging and test the unit before you waste time and energy on installing it!
On the plus side, the $100 shipping is free with prime and it comes to your door.
As to the unit itself, it’s performed very well so far. It was a tight fit but the side covers slot into the window frame and the unit ends up very well sealed, top bottom and sides.
My old Fridgidaire was more heavily engineered and had nicer directional vents and had infinitely variable fan speed but the heavier engineering was in areas that don’t really matter. And the paint on the casing was heavier which is a plus.
Overall, I’m happy with it. The return was a pain, especially during a heatwave, but it works well, the price was good, it’s relatively quiet and the performance is up to snuff. The previous one lasted 18 years. Hopefully this one does as well.

Cools my room super fast and is very quiet even with the fan on a high setting. And after seeing my electric bill, this unit is very energy efficient even with my air conditioner on 24/7 at the coldest setting. So I’m extremely pleased and have no complaints. The only negative is it is very heavy and would recommend two people to install it in the window. Unless you’re a strong man

Have had a very warm summer and like this AC very much.
