We’ve been using this air purifier for about the past month and have been really pleased with it. It’s extremely quiet and we rarely if ever notice it running. It is on the somewhat larger size for an air purifier but we have it in our large living room to filter the air in there so the size has been fine thus far. It does a good job of keeping our air in the good range and we have only noticed it going into the yellow range on a rare occasion if we leave a door open and have the attic fan running which we haven’t done much of yet because of all the wildfire smoke in the air currently.
We have had a few Mila air purifiers and I much prefer the simplicity of this unit over the Mila’s plus it’s so much quieter as well even if it’s running on a higher fan speed. Overall it’s been great and we’re really happy it’s in our home.
In regards to the app, it was pretty easy to get setup. It did not recognize the QR code when I scanned it as I think it maybe hadn’t been updated in the app yet but I was able to manually add and it gives fairly minimal information but honestly we probably use it more for peace of mind and keeping dust down more than anything.

I wanted an air purifier to place close to my solar mini split AC. Mini splits are great, but they can get clogged with dust and become ineffective. Air purifiers are a good way to keep the dust down and keep a mini split clean.
Anyway I got this one on a decent sale and had no trouble just plugging it in, starting it in automatic, and forgetting about it. It makes very little noise, adjusts to the air quality (runs more when it detects a drop in air quality), and doesn’t need tending. The air in my house is already pretty good, but I do notice that when I’m cooking in the kitchen, which is the next room, the purifier kicks into higher gear. It really gets going if I’m searing, frying, etc. Once it gets the air cleaned up, it goes back to maintaining the air quality at lower fan settings on its own.
Truly a set and forget tool. I’m not sure how it will do with keeping my mini split clear as they’re both new, but I’ll update when I have more information.

Firstly, I was surprised by how large this air purifier is. It does give me confidence it can handle a large amount of air intake, but definitely pay attention to the size of this unit before ordering, since it will probably take up about as much floor space as a small side-table might.
With that said, the one bit of trouble I did have setting this unit up was with linking it to the ThinQ app. There is a QR code on the side that you’re supposed to be able to scan to add this to the app, but it wouldn’t recognize the air purifier when I tried this. I had to hold the Fan Speed button to enable Wifi mode, then link it to the app via this alternate method. Once I did that though, it worked fine. I don’t feel like this is worth deducting a star since it still only took a couple of minutes to set up. With that said, I was then able to link ThinQ to my voice assistants for voice control, which I can confirm works exactly as expected.
The ThinQ app itself allows you to view the air quality in real time by PM1.0, PM2.5, and PM10 standards. You can set the fan speed, toggle Sleep Mode, and set a running schedule. You can also view your air quality history with neat charts on the Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly scale, and check your filter life.
Appearance-wise, this is a sleek-looking unit. It visually fits in just fine with the room; I don’t mind looking at it. The built-in air quality monitor visually provides feedback on the air quality, with green indicating good air quality, and the colors shifting in real-time if the air quality worsens. If you enable Sleep Mode, the LED indicators turn off except for the power LED being dimly lit.
Noise-wise, this ranges from nearly silent when put into Sleep Mode, to the noise-level of a modest room fan on the highest fan setting. I wouldn’t personally leave it on the highest fan speed, but it’s not obnoxiously loud either. On Sleep Mode, it’s easy to forget it’s even turned on if you have any ambient noise in the room you’re in to begin with.
Overall, my first impressions are strong. I’ll update this review (posted July 2024) if I run into any issues down the road.

We’ve had this in our bedroom for a few weeks and I love this filter. The installation was super simple, basically just removing from plastic from the filters and turn it on. It’s got an automatic mode so it raises or lowers the fan speed based on the particulates in the air, and it’s consistently been able to stay in ‘green’ mode meaning it’s clean. If you don’t want the light on during the evening, it also has a sleep mode which turns all of the lights off but keeps the fan moving. It moves the air around quite well in our average sized bedroom and we certainly notice a difference in the air. LG brand and it’s products are always high quality and I trust that it’s actually cleaning the air. We have turned it off for a day or two and it will turn a yellow/orange but within 10-15 minutes goes back to green.
