The blower is a must for good circulation. We love these heaters. We hate the high electric bills and the constant power outages. These heaters are efficient and effective. GREAT items. The 20,000BTU is heating more than 2 bedrooms/1 bath/and a long hallway with ease. The heater sends heat right down our hallway that warms the living room and dining room. One is located at the end of our ranch home where the last bedroom is always chilly – well no longer is that room chilly. A wonderfully comfortable heat. The thermostat is a must and the fan makes an amazing addition for spreading the heat. Easy installation, quick setup, immediate heat!! WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE TYPES OF HEATERS!!

I have two of these heaters and they are well worth the price!! Heated up my entire home during below freezing weather. I have a electric central heat and air but I still have gas hookups around the house. Using gas heaters saved my bill and my health. The central unit could not beat the cold and this did. Totally recommend. Easy to set up and start!

This is my 2nd Mr Heater and they seem like quality products. My other heater is the 30,000 NG heater. If I had it to do over again I would have purchased the 30,000 instead of the anemic 20,000. The 20,000 is ok for a small room of let’s say 300 sq ft., but if trying to go through a door opening into another room forget it. The 30,000 can be turned down pretty low and it heats a 300 sq ft room fast, but perhaps too warm for some…of course you can then just turn it to pilot. Strangely these heaters don’t push the heat out front like you might think, but shoves the heat out of the lovers upward towards the ceiling. I don’t have a fan so can’t say about that. They are a little quirky to get started as you can’t tell if the pilot is on in a bright light…so start it up with a darkened room. There is hardly any heat on the sides, back or below…just up through the lovers and it dissipates so that the ceiling doesn’t get hot. No problem with Co2, but I have an airy house with mild winters on the Oregon coast. Hookup was easy and the quick release hose allows me to move the unit around…even one room to another that has a gas line. It came in a heavy box in good shape. The directions are probably overdone for the apprentice, but a technician would salivate over it.

I purchased 2000 BTU unit to replace an older model. This particular unit is somewhat smaller but just as powerful. Somewhat disappointed that it doesn’t come with a fan. I also purchased a fan but it’s not as powerful as the already installed unit on my prior Heater. I do recommend this heater, but it doesn’t throw heat quite as efficiently.

I was replacing an existing heater, and so I already had natural gas plumbed to the site. It took me about 1/2 hour to unpack the heater, attach the legs, and install the included AA battery for the pilot igniter. Then I discovered I was out of the yellow Teflon tape needed for gas threads. (Do NOT use the white tape for gas!) I went to the little store down the road and purchased a new roll of the yellow Teflon tape. Using this on the threads I installed the street el which came with the heater, and then installed the 3/8 compression adapter I had removed from the old heater. Then, using the metal flex tube I had removed from the old heater, I connected this heater to the gas, turned the gas back on (there is a shutoff right behind the heater), and lit the pilot. Once it was lit, I turned on the heater with the thermostat on top. The heater immediately ignited. It began to heat immediately. It is silent in operation. The heated air comes out above the glass which is in front of the flame. The flame is even and all blue. It is hard to see when the room is well lit. The heater has been operating for about two weeks now in a space that is about 600 square feet. Night temps have been in the teens. It keeps the space in the 70’s. The instructions say this heater may shut off at elevations above 4500′. We live at 4200′, and there has not been any issue. We already had an operating CO detector when I installed this heater. If you don’t have one, install one before you install the heater.

AMAZON GOOD- MR HEATER BAD
I bought this product in January 2024 to replace one roughly 8 years old. Man what a rip! The one I received did not have a glass peice in front of the flames and the electric starter is an unworking piece of crap. The starter is an easy fix, the glass guard not so much.
I contacted Amazon they gave me the option of contacting Mr Heater, getting a refund, or a partial refund etc. I went with contacting Mr heater. Never again. After waiting an hour on hold I opted for them to call me back. Roughly 2 hours later they finally did. Rudely, I was told real quick that the glass protective piece was no longer included. I could however buy said protective piece and the mounting kit for the protective glass for an additional fee, just go to their website… FOR REAL?
What’s wrong with you MR Heater? Even the instruction manual/booklet it says do not operate without glass shield in place. The booklet also states that the glass shield is included with heater. While the metal grating guard in front is okay to a point the piece of glass has saved my house from catching fire several times from small toys or whatever being introduced to the flame from kids and pets. To take away the safety feature is ludicrous. I’m sorry the retail $20 in parts is affecting your bottom line so much that you decided not to include it anymore. This is my last Mr Heater product until you realize that safety is a real thing. I would have gladly paid the extra $20 to have it like my old one was. But now I’m scared to death to use this product until I can order the additional parts and have them installed. Gee thanks (sarcasm)
I thank the two Amazon associates that helped me when I called. But where I used to sing the praises and recommend this heater to friends family etc, that will not happen anymore. As a matter of fact I’m going to warn my friends family etc away from this product.
