Very easy to set up and works very good and a 350 square-foot room Keeps ice cold and keeps it nice and warm. Did all the work myself?

I installed this unit in a basement den with no other source of heating or cooling. I used the HVAC calculator to find the correct BTU size for this and bought it. It arrived pretty quickly and had everything I needed to install it. My only add-on was the line set cover kit for about $45. I had it installed and running in an afternoon. I had previously bought a RobinAir vacuum pump with adapters for HVAC so that I could do the vacuum after the lines were installed. The unit comes with a full charge of refrigerant in the main unit. Be sure to use Nylog Blue thread sealant on all of the connections to ensure a leak-free seal on your line set. Works great and didn’t add but a few dollars to our electric bill over the past several months! Used it for cooling during the last of the summer and now for heat. It kept the room (29 x 18) toasty warm on a 22 degree night! I’m very pleased with it so far. The unit was WAY less expensive than having a big box store come out and do the job. I was quoted over $$6,000 for a same sized unit from a big box home improvement store to come out and do this same install. I came in with everything at under $1,000.

in need of smaller unit with enough output for our Sun Room. This is a One ton unit and rated at 12,000 BTU. After install it works flawlessly. it’s super quiet. Couldn’t be happier. Oh….Our Sun Room is 16 ft by 14 ft.

After 8 months the factory flares on the line set failed and leaked all the gas out. HighSEER was absolutely no help. They refused to pay for the repairs and stopped responding to my inquiries. This unit is in a vacation rental and needed to be repaired ASAP so I couldn’t wait to have the work done. HighSEER used this as an excuse to not pay for any part of the repair and said that I should have sent the unit back or contacted them first which makes no sense because paying to have the unit uninstalled and shipping it back leaves my home without cooling/heating. Of course, they want me to ship it back because they know how ridiculous it would be to have the unit uninstalled from my house 8 months after the fact. What a crazy and unreasonable response!
The unit itself is okay, but the blower is weak and the cooling is mediocre. The heat works much better than the cooling. The controls are a bit confusing and the fan speed, fin movement, sound, and display have to be set up every time the unit is powered on. As mentioned the factory flare failed after 8 months and the customer service was unhelpful. It’s quiet and the display is nice but it’s really slow to respond when turning on so you never really know if what you’re setting on the remote is actually working. I find myself sitting and waiting a lot which is annoying. I waste a good amount of time answering emails and calls from guests wondering if the unit is working right. I would not buy this unit or order from this company again. I would only purchase an item like this from a local dealer again.

Had an elder person reach out with no air condition. Could not afford a Mitsubishi mini split which usually what we sell gave them. This option was second time installing a pioneer . It was well built cool the area good about half the cost of the Mitsubishi mini split. Easy to install. Looks nice
Line set cover was added next day

I bought the vacuum pump kit and tubing cutter and flaring tool kit. I plan to in a tall 2 more so they will pay for theirs elf in the end . I used a 45 degree sewer street L. To go through the wall. A3 inch would work best if you can find one. Hung the inside unit no problem. Hung the outside unit. No problem. Just make sure you give all the slack you can when cutting the lines. That extra slack will be used up when you secure the lines to the wall. Cools great. Many features. Worth the money.

Installed a 12k unit recently. Other than the vacuum line, it was simple and straightforward. The vacuum service port was the problem area, as a novice I was unaware that r134a and r410a fittings are sized differently. The worst time to find this out is on a Saturday in the middle of nowhere with the nearest town with a glimmer of hope of finding a 1/4″ to 5/8″ adaptor is 45 minutes away. It would be nice to either mention this clearly in the install manual or better yet include one in the box, as they are cheap but not easily locally sourced.
After getting over that hurdle and getting rhe unit started, it worked great off a Growatt 3000 watt charge inverter system. The slow ramp up gave no issues with overloading the inverter or 48v battery system, and pumped out plenty of heat on a cool afternoon. Looking forward to cooling with it too as there were many days over 100F this past summer.
Update May 2024: Been working well, but uses a good amount of power when working with a small solar system. My biggest complaint is the remote, why did Pioneer choose IR instead of RF? You really have to be aiming right at the unit to get it to respond from 10 feet away with no obstacles.
