I tried this as an air conditioner in my garden room as I was potting seedlings. The fanned water was cooling and I have seen similar in outdoor bars in the summer. It was good for my plants; this is a great addition to a greenhouse. There was no leakage noted and adding ice (I recommend cold packs ) and water was easy. I have my doubts about it working as well in the high 90’s and high humidity that we suffer through in the summer however I think it will be advantageous in a southern exposed room that tends to be much warmer than other rooms in an air conditioned home, in that case rather than having to lower the air and turn the other rooms frigid this little cooler will come m handy to help cool the sun exposed room in the summer. I would caution against using this in a small office with a lot of sensitive machinery as the humidity could be the problem. While not as wet as a typical swamp cooler it does work similarly.
The fan, on its own, is where I think it shines. At least for me. A big plus is that it is quiet so it can be used when sleeping (I use a fan all season round) or when having a conversation with friends so you can hear the conversation. I also tried it on the front porch as a fan and it made the evening very comfy, the constant movement of the fan kept us from getting sticky but also kept the bugs away – bugs don’t land in moving air. If you are in the south this is important for all the mosquitos we get.
The lights are a nice touch and added some ambiance to sitting on the porch as the sun went down.
All in all a nice little lightweight machine, compact enough to not only store easily but to also move around from area to area. I no longer camp but it would make a great tent cooler if attached to a power bank.

this products does cool you down, BUT you have to be RIGHT IN FRONT OF IT! not to mention, it makes some noise… it’s not too loud, but you can definitely hear it. and unfortunately I have to refill the water very 6 ish hours. and ice won’t really help, it melts almost right away.

I found this product through someplace like NYT or Good Housekeeping or whatever. It was on a list of most recommended products and they claim all of them had been carefully reviewed. Well this thing is a POS and does nothing. My bedroom isn’t large and this makes no difference in temperature. You can’t feel anything unless your hand is right in front of it. Even sitting on my nightstand inches from my face I still don’t feel any cooler. It’s noisy too, I have to wear earplugs. I fill up the water tank before bed and it is empty before I wake up when put on the highest setting which still does nothing. Waste of money. The different color lights are nice but who cares if it doesn’t do what it’s supposed to. Does nothing if it’s placed across the room so I don’t see the point of the remote control, never bothered with it.

Successfully, Amazon is not responsible for the Brand Manufacturers. For the price of $69 plus for an item, a customer will be led to believe “it is great for the money”. Well, NO. THIS WAS THE MOST DEPRESSING PURCHASE and Return In All My Years [for the price]. The price didn’t match the product. ****The $35 ARCTIC AIR [Purchased at Home Depot] smaller and came with all the adapter plugs, fortunately still works after 1yr, no problems. This purchase was an effort to purchase something portable for our 83yr old Mom who lives in a basement area [with minimal window air]. After the first purchase of this item, we were pleased that this item will work long enough for her to enjoy and for us to feel comfortable. Within under 3weeks, the 1st unit stopped working while it was on. Upon returning item during the 1st heat wave, preparing for the 2nd heat wave >> we return [drop off at Staples] on a Monday, [start of the heat wave] received the new unit on Wednesday >>> did all the successful setup, filled the ice and water >>> the unit worked great >>> UPON REFILLING THE ICE and WATER, within 1 minute the entire unit “shut off”. We did all of the Troubleshooting and it still did not work. 24hrs later [Thursday] we tried again; and once again the unit did not power on. THIS IS DEPRESSING. We Thank Amazon. But this Brand or “this batch of units” truly have a glitch somewhere.
