There is a fundamental principle behind air conditioners. In order for them to produce cool air, they must expel hot air. For that simple reason, this air conditioner cannot be expected to work if just placed in a room without venting the exhaust. The cool air it produces will just be offset by the hot air it exhausts. It seems most of the poor reviews fail to take this into account. To be fair, the manufacturer could have been a bit clearer about this fact in their sale copy and avoided some of the poor reviews.
I think this air conditioner shines most as a camping A/C or used in a dog house, child’s playhouse, RV, or small room. I think of it as a 20% powered A/C. Where most A/Cs are between 1000W and 1500W, this one is just 280W. That makes it a great choice for small spaces where you don’t want a big unit crowding the space and you want to be able to operate it at just 20% the cost in electricity.
It really needs to be installed like a regular window A/C unit with the back sticking outside venting the hot air. For tent camping it works great if you have a 2-door tent and can just keep it zipped up into one of the doors. Because it runs on only 280W of power, you could power it with a 100Ah LiFiPO4 battery with inverter for about 4 hours. If you just run it for 10-15 minutes at a time to keep the temperature bearable, you could probably make it last all night on a hot night in a tent.
For regular on-grid use, it’s still very power efficient and could make a good choice for a small room or RV if there’s a good window to install it in. The key is that it really needs to be vented unless you’re sitting outside and just want a cool breeze on you.
The manufacture quality is not great, but decent and it feels to me like it should last a good while. It’s not a solution for all situations, but for the right use it could be just perfect.

 I have unfortunately had to update this review by completely erasing my original review. I tried to stay positive and followed all directions such as the bizarre instructions to store the thing arrows down for a period of time before operating. I had assumed one of the reviewers who said the unit dies after the first use did not follow the special instructions. I was wrong and he was right. The machine is flawed and dies after the second use of having it on for like 30 minutes. UPDATE- 6-24-2024- i have tried to update this several times but the new material will not edit properly. I actually was able to get this started and working for the past 4 days. Now this thing works but not that great. It was a lifesaver but has a very temporary feel to it. What i mean by that is it seems like its supposed to be used for a few hrs here and there. I had to empty a gallon water jug that has to sit next to it collecting a steady stream of water every 6 hours.
This portable air conditioner isn’t even portable. You still need to attach a long vent hose and send it out the window for the thing to even work. Then to top it off the thing collected a bunch of water even though i had the drain hose properly attached.

Okay first of all I’m giving this three stars because I feel like it’s halfway decent. I’m going to start with the cons and go to the pros. First of all the remote control didn’t work very well it only would access setting 16 through 21. Which are speed settings. And it drained water constantly like it’s really a good dehumidifier if you look at it that way but when it comes to cooling it’s only 2,000 BTU so as far as cooling a small area it does a great job of that but it’s constantly draining. And I couldn’t access the Wi-Fi signal and that was all the only thing it would do was a lot would turn on but it wouldn’t actually send a signal anywhere. But it is a good dehumidifier that’s for sure! It’s easy to install and does a great job of cooling a very small area like a kid’s playroom, a storage shed, storage facility, dog house, or a treehouse. And furthermore if you don’t have it level it will begin having water drain out the sides instead of just through the drain tube which was a little messy but since the dehumidifier works so well on it I was quick to get everything dried up.

This portable air conditioner was a life saver for us. AC went out in RV/van and we were able to use this to cool it for our trip out west. Light weight and easy to handle and operate. Great purchase.

This little air conditioner is a power house! It cools an entire RV perfectly and is quiet enough to sleep with. Take note that you need a place for it to drain and somewhere for it to vent, so you have to choose your placement wisely, but it works fantastically! A real saving grace on these hot summer days.

I have this unit installed just about exactly like a regular window unit. So there’s no water to clean up and no hot exhaust blowing back inside the room. But it’s just not doing a decent job of cooling a lousy 250 square feet! It comes with a dehumidifier on it, but there’s not even a light on the control panel or remote that denotes that it’s on or off. I know that in the dehumidifier mode, it won’t cool as efficiently, so I’ve pushed the button and gave it plenty of time to cool….still not cool. Pushed the button again, gave it more time to cool. Still not cool. At this point, I’m really wishing I’d have just bought a regular 110 AC which would have run me about $100 less than what I paid for this. I didn’t need it to be portable, I just didn’t need it to be 5,000 btu’s. Oh well. Some lessons are expensive, this being one of them. I wouldn’t recommend this unit to anyone. I’m totally unsatisfied and disappointed.
