Since this ozone generator is powered by a lithium ion battery, it’s OK to use in cold environments like the refrigerator. The 20 minute cycle every 6 hours is a nice maintenance period for fizzing out some ozone into the refrigerator compartment and hopefully killing off bad bacteria. I don’t have scientific evidence of what the ozone is doing inside the refrigerator but I can tell it’s in there by the smell.
This is a really nice little unit that is packaged like a high end electronic device. It’s easy to charge and easy to use. You just press the button and it works.

So efficient! Its lightweight and small enough to fit in your handbag, great for cars, and could even cover a small room.
I use it most when I go grocery shopping, I put it in the back of the car, along with groceries for sanitazion.
The battery life is remarkably durable!

I bought two of these-one to stick in the refrigerator, and one to keep in my car trunk. I always hated the weird smell that ice picks up in the freezer. I’d regularly dump the ice and wash the ice bin out with soap and water, but that weird funk seemed to remain. This ozone generator eliminated that! The air in the freezer and fridge circulates around, so putting the ozone generator in the fridge WILL treat the freezer as well. (The battery life will be shortened if you try to put it in the freezer.) I get about 2 weeks from a charge. When I open the fridge I look at the unit to see if the blue light is blinking…..if not, it’s time to charge again. A worthwhile investment!
UPDATE: One unit had a very short battery life (like less than a week in the trunk of the car.) Amazon is sending a replacement.
