This is my second oil filled radiator, so I knew what to expect.
These are designed for continuous heating, not for quickly heating up a room then turning off. If you want something that does that, you’ll need to get a heater with a fan, which means noise.
I purchased this for supplemental heat for my living room + kitchen area during the coldest periods of the year. It works well in that regard. I should disclose that like the other radiator in my bedroom, I normally run it at the low setting and almost never above medium, so I am not qualified to speak to its performance at full.
One item buyers should be aware of is that as the thermostat is in the body of the heater, it will be affected by the heat output. As such, if one has it set to keep the temperature set to keep the room at a certain temperature on low output, that same setting might result in the room being cooler when the heat output is set to medium or high (as the radiator is outputting more heat close to the thermostat, skewing its local temperature further from the actual ambient room temperature).
For best results, the output level should be set to the level that results in the thermostat going on and off as little as possible. (If the room is quiet, one can hear the faint “click” of the thermostat engaging and disengaging).

Our Cape Cod style home is small with an open floor plan and cathedral height ceilings on 1/2 of the house. I live in Upstate NY and prefer indoor temperatures of 68-72 Last Winter we heated our downstairs main living area with two $70.00 Lasko 1500 watt ceramic tower fan heaters on high because fuel oil prices were insane. ($1k for only 150 gallons!!) Each of our 3 bedrooms had one too. The ceramic fan heaters worked well but were collectively very loud and dried out the air so badly that I then bought 3 humidifiers.
Decided to try this radiator style to cut down on the droning fan noise and desert air. I read that oil filled radiator style heaters are also safer to run with less fire risk. I bought the R.W. Flame grey color for $53 on a Black Friday deal. I didn’t want or need a remote or anything digital since I’m mostly going to set it on high and leave it. It only took a minute to attach the wheels. It is a tad smaller than I thought it would be but the weight and build quality seem good. Plugged it in, set it to high and it heated up quickly. No smell. No noise. This thing radiates way more heat than I expected for being a 1200 watt max heater. I actually prefer the small “handle” cut out that some people have complained about…it’s just enough to move it around if you need to and keeps the unit looking minimalistic. I’ve let it run for 24 hours, it was the only heat source for my downstairs main living area over night and my thermostat read 67 when I woke up this morning. Not bad at all! So far I’m impressed enough to order a couple more. I’ll update if I notice any change in performance.

Bought this for the bedroom and works very well. Three power settings and variable thermostat control. It takes several hours to warm a room, so keep all doors and windows shut when in use. This heater will warm the room walls and everything else in the room.
There is a noticeable temperature difference when walking outside the room where there is no heat. highly recommend.

This heater behaves perfectly, puts out a surprising amount of heat, and the thermostat works very well – you can set it for your desired room temperature and just leave it alone – it will turn off dependably when the thermostat temperature is acheived.
If I could change anything at all, it would be to have a way to pick it up when hot. It has wheels, though, and the little recess at the top front is enough to grab it and pull. The recess is not configured to allow lifting.

Bought this for the past winter and was very pleased with it. I wake up at 3AM every day and sit at my computer and read news. Rather than warming up the whole house I turn this on and i’m quite comfortable. It’s not fast as with many air blower heaters, but it’s quiet and steady. It will get hot, but that’s to be expected. Good product!

I like that you can roll this heater around, instead of having to lift it. It is lightweight, but gives off a nice radiant heat. It doesn’t get super hot but it does keep our feet and hands warm while sitting on the sofa watching the television on chilly nights. It is very quiet and there are zero odors. We are very pleased with this item.

Today is April 11. I bought this for my daughter for Christmas 3 1/2 months ago. Today it just stopped working altogether. Can’t get a hold of their support and it’s too late to return to Amazon. So now I’m out the money. To be honest it never worked correctly. It wasn’t very powerful. Maybe something was wrong all along, but it was never a great product.

This is a very good radient heater. I specifically purchased it because of its 1200 watt limit. I almost started a fire with a taditional 1500 watt heater. This radient heater is well below the rating for our electrical system.
How well does it heat? I am using it in a 170 square foot beadroom. With a beginning temperature of 69 degrees, this heater on medium will heat the room to 74 degrees in two hours and, on high, will heat the room to 76 degrees in two hours.
In order to effectively use this heater, it needs to be turned on before you are actually going to use the room. Unlike more traditional space heaters, there is little, if any, immediate heat produced by this heater. There is also no sound of any fan blowing heat. Some find this to be a positive…others perfer the hum of a fan to assist them to sleep.
I have not decided which I perfer.. A radient heater does require more attention. One positive thing about radient heaters is that they are almost universely rated as safer to operate than traditional space heaters.
