I bought this high efficiency space heater for a friend and he loves it in his tiny home. I chose this over a standard coil heater for several reasons. Firstly oil furnaces are way safer than electric coil heaters in homes with pets. It’s safe enough to toss a wet coat over one and your coat will be dry in ten minutes. It is totally silent unlike coil space heaters that both waste power and sound like a cartoon space laser. Pets like to snuggle close and will not light up or scorch. The only small negative is it will take twice as long to heat a cold room as a standard coil heater or propane heater will. The lower cost of operation makes it worth the slower warm up time. My friend loves the remote where he can bump temperature up or down without having to get out of bed in the middle of the night.
Recommended for safety quiet operation ease of use and less electric power to operate.

It definitely heats up my office fast.

I have to say, don’t let the lower stars on certain parts of this that I gave on this turn you off. This heater is great. It will definitively make most rooms very toasty. It does have a very cheap and short range remote, though. It also takes some getting used to setting it up correctly. The one annoying thing is… even if you have is preset at a temperature the heater doesn’t shut off. This is fine if you live in a place were the heat outside never goes above your preset. I am not the fortunate. So we go through a lot or rotating between powering off the heater and then back on a lot, during certain parts of the year!

This is my first oil space heater, where my other space heaters have been the ceramic style. I’m impressed. The heater is completely silent, which is nice in my office. It heated a 12’x14′ room from 69° to 75° in about an hour – on the highest setting. The oil stays hot for a while, so the room didn’t cool off immediately after turning the heater off either. Although there are some metallic “pops” from the heater as the materials cool off and contract. It has a handle that doesn’t get hot, so the heater can be moved around before it cools off. The remote works and has all the same functions that the actual unit does.
It has a nice “Eco” setting which heats on high for 10 minutes, then on low for 30 minutes, then turns itself off. Probably nice for a bedroom.
My only complaints are cosmetic. The myriad of warning stickers on the front are really distracting, and they aren’t coming off easily. And the electrical cord comes from the front (I understand it can’t come from the oil reservoir, but it’s still ugly). The u-clamps to hold the casters are silver while every single other thing on the heater is black.

great product! highly recommend instead of those loud air heaters. it’s a slow heat though, but zero noise and doesn’t dry the air!

This was my first time purchasing an oil filled heater. I bought it in hopes of keeping electric expenses low. I used it this past winter and early spring. Our winters in Louisiana are mild, but still require a heater. It worked like a charm! My winter electric bills were $35 – $50.00!

I will start off by admitting that my expectations were incorrect so keep that in mind while reading this review. Maybe I should have spent more time reading the Q&A and/or reviews and I might have found this info before I ordered it. Yes, it has a 24-hour timer but from what I’ve seen that only means you can have it off and you can schedule it to turn on anywhere from 1 to 24 hours into the future, or you can manually turn it on and have it scheduled to turn off anywhere from 1 to 24 hours in the future. I am using it to heat my in-home office, so I want it to turn on 1 hour before I start working, which it will do, but it defaults to 86 degrees and not the last temperature I had it set at. And apparently I need to set the timer every night before I go to bed, for the number of hours between when I am setting it and 5 AM the next morning. This is a far cry from the DeLonghi unit I have in my bedroom for the overnight hours that is programmable in 15-minute increments for 24 hours. But this unit was also about $130 less expensive than that DeLonghi unit. I’m not thrilled with how this works, but it will do the job I want it to do, just not as automatically as I would like or as I was anticipating. I just want anyone who reads this to be forewarned on how it works, because I wasn’t when I ordered it.

This heater seemed like a great purchase during the first Winter it was used. And by “used,” I mean just several hours each night for three-months, since we’re in Southern California, where it’s been chilly, but not freezing cold. When we did use it, the chosen setting was well below max, usually around 76-78F. The unit worked fine and met the needs of the 260 sq ft room really well. It was then put away, protected in a closet, the remainder of the year. This second Winter, it gave out after just two months use. Totally dead. We’re now looking at a piece of metal ready for the junk pile. I really think a heater at this price point, used minimally with care, should last longer than a total of five months.
