I came close to giving this a one star because I couldn’t find a way to add water for the humidifying and flame effect. The instructions are terrible! It says nothing about adding water let alone how to add water. Once I was able to do that, I love this unit.
To add water, you need to pry the top off. See the pictures for an idea of what top needs to come off. I used a flat head screwdriver to gently pry the top off. Put the head in the crevice on the top sides. Once it is started it comes the rest of the way off easily. Be careful not to damage the plastic on the top piece. It is designed to keep water from spilling when you move the unit. One other complaint. They do not provide batteries for the remote. Why? It should be a no brainer to add a small pack of batteries of the correct size.
Now for why this should have a 5 star rating. It puts out great heat while being pretty quiet. The fan can be adjusted for different speeds. It oscillates. The humidifier and flame effect is beautiful. It only holds about a cup of water so it won’t last hours, but it is nice to look at while it adds some moisture to the air. It is small and compact. You can set the temperature and a timer. It has a remote. The display is a touch screen. Note: you won’t see any numbers until you power it on. Even with the hassle of bad directions, I am very pleased to have this heater for the winter.

I was looking for something compact to put underneath my desk because my feet get cold in the winter time, but this is powerful enough to actually heat my bedroom. Mind you, I live in a relatively small apartment, but even with my bedroom door open the whole room stays pretty warm. The noise it makes is very minimal and is almost kind of like white noise – I find it soothing!

Made in China.
This has replaced my Presto Heat Dish as my favorite space heater. It’s marvelous!
The Seller was VERY quick to respond to my question and helped me make the whole thing go.
See, the problem isn’t that it was made in China, the problem was the instructions were *written* in China – not in Chinese just not in English that made any sense.
So I’m going to translate just in case you get one before the product page gets updated.
The instructions go on and an about the remote and not to leave it where it can get broken so I’m thinking great – so the symbols on the front are just for decorations and I can only operate it till I lose or break the remote — not so! They aren’t buttons per se but like touch screen or your cell phone…you can touch them and work the heater just fine (much easier than the remote).
Then the manual goes on about “shaker instructions” and I spent a good 15 minutes wondering what the heck they were talking about and who would want a shaker on their space heater? Back and forth between the unit, the manual and the product page and I figured out that “shaker” means “oscillator” –and the oscillator is one of the best features it swivels 35 degrees each way.
It’s very warm, you can set the temperature and even use it as just a fan if you wish. When you hit the off button it doesn’t turn off immediately, rather it has a 30 second count down.
Nowhere in the manual did it mention water. It mentioned the humidifier, but not water as in where the heck to you put it? In comes the seller to save the day. Now, I looked in the little slit and saw electronics, I figured it didn’t go in the slit so I pulled on the the top hat looking thing the slit is on the top of but it didn’t want to budge and I didn’t know if it was even supposed to budge and that’s when I contacted the seller…he/she got back to me in minutes and I’ll copy paste what he/she said:
“To fill the unit with water, please follow these steps:
Note: Turn off the power before adding water.
1,Grasp the protruding part on the top (there’s a slit in the center) and pull the top cover upwards.
2,Pour in the appropriate amount of tap water, ensuring not to exceed the MAX line.
3,Securely replace the top cover.”
Armed with the knowledge that top hat thing WAS supposed to come off, I tried again. Still bupkus. I had it sitting on the side of my 1909 cast iron kitchen sink while I figured it out – the kind with the wide draining “tables” on each side. So I set it on the floor, put the sides of my feet on the two bottom ledges and pulled – it came up, then. It has a plastic or silicone ring around it about 1/2 inch wide that I guess just needs to be worked in a little, but it came off – I filled it and it went back in with no issues.
So now it’s working perfectly, and I do mean perfectly – it even looks like a flame (requires also using the humidifier – you hit the flame button and the humidifier button – with heat you get the orange flame, in fan only you get a blue flame). I was most shocked about that – I’ve never seen one that *actually* looked like a flame, but this one does.
It’s definitely my favorite space heater.
