   ** UPDATE ** 2013 Aug12 ** UPDATE **

   WOW! It’s been 3 1/2 years and I’m BACK! Ordering a new Toasty Toes as the original now is getting past it’s prime…. I just can’t understand how different that peoples experiences have been with this product. I have LOVED this unit and use it very often, nearly every day that I work. So this one has seen a LOT of use and is just now beginning to fail significantly.

   I broke off one of the pegs that the “feet” glide on well over a year ago. But I’m hard on stuff.
   I probably put too much pressure on it or pushed it with my boots against the board my chair sits on, or who knows…. but I don’t blame it on the unit. It’s just plastic afterall and I’m 220lbs and wear heavy leather boots all the time, so it’s got no chance against me really… 😉

   I glued the peg back on w/ some cyanoacrylate gel and all has been well. Until this week.
   Now I’ve broken off the other one.

   Keep in mind that this is the first time in WELL over a year that this thing has even been removed from the floor. But upon putting it up on my workbench, I find it has longitudinal cracks on the bottom around both of the “pegs”. The cracks extend well toward the center and all the way to the edges on both sides. It is also is cracked on top near the switch.
   I’d show pics but guess that doesn’t work on here.

   Anyway, it still works! So I’m repairing it again with some specialized epoxy this time. I’ll build up a little over the cracked regions and it’ll be fine. I expect it to work and last another year anyway, but just in case…. I’m picking up a new one.

   AND the price has dropped 30% on these in the last 3 years! Don’t see THAT often…

   Oh and I commented below about folks complaining about the switch being on the floor…
   I ended up buying a footswitch at the hardware store. So now to turn it on and off, I just tap the switch with my boot… doesn’t change the heat setting but I don’t care, since I use mine on high almost all the time… takes a goodly amount of heat to warm up the boots I wear too. And they get toasty warm inside…

   Maybe the mfgr would take note that a “HEAVY DUTY” version would be desirable…double thick plastic perhaps, an aluminum foot plate… composites… fully adjustable heat settings, larger foot platform…

   It’s not MIL-spec’d, but it’s a nice little heated footrest and a reasonable buy at under $50 w/ free shipping.

   I started working from home just this year and keep the thermostat at 65 in the winter. I also wear heavy steel-toe, high-top, leather work boots almost exclusively and found that my toes,feet, and lower legs were getting pretty uncomfortably cold and achy sitting in front of the PC for extended periods.

   Putting the heater on the higher setting keeps my feet and legs perfectly warm right through the boots with no problem.
   Lower setting is required if for some reason I have on slippers or just socks. Too hot to use on high.
   I think it’s a stretch to think this unit can be stood up and used as a sort of radiant heat source. Yes it puts off a goodly amount of heat but it isn’t a radiant heat source like a hot glowing filament or ceramic tube heater. You won’t feel the heat from 6 feet away like a true radiant heater.
   Had noted complaints about these making a noise and yep, it creaks a little if moved around. But at my age, so do I. (LOL) The plastic creaking is not bothersome or a problem for me at all.
   Also noted comments about the switch. No you can’t turn it off/on with your toes, but jeez people. Take a risk and bend at the waist once in a while.

   I love that I can sit my feet on it and can rock the whole platform up and down at will to change the position of my feet and stretch my calves.
   All told, I’ve been using this for a month and really like this little foot rest/heater.

   Also when I come in from outside in the snow, I bump the snow off my boots and can sit them on this heater. They’ll be dried out in just a little while and toasty warm when I put them on. Outstanding.

   My only negative comment is that I think it’s priced a little high at nearly $70 but it does what I expected it to do and exceedingly well.

   I would (and have) recommended this product to family, friends, and anyone who needs to keep feet and legs warm while working at a desk.

   It’s great for my feet in the winter and the texture/angle is comfortable but I can’t keep my feet on it all the time as it’s too hot. It would be nice if the low power level was cooler, but it’s still much better than frozen feet in the winter.

   I love this thing. I sit at my desk for really, unhealthy, extended periods of time. So long that my Fitbit sometimes thinks I died. And my circulation? Yowza, did it get chilly in here? My hands and feet are cold, dry, and rickety from lack of circulation. So I used a space heater under my desk, but didn’t care for the noise, got overheated by it, and it just got in the way. Then I found this.

   I wanted a foot rest just to elevate my feet a bit. I saw that this one was heated, and that sounded dreamy. And guess what? It IS dreamy.

   The angle and height are great, pretty standard, I think. Works for me. The heater is the best. The low setting is nice for everyday use, and the high setting is great for chillier days, or when you have thick-soled shoes on. I can feel the heat through all my shoesoles, which is fabulous. I like to kick my shoes off and can rest my feet directly on it, too (stockings or none). It does get pretty warm for barefoot, but I like that. For some people, that might be too hot.

   It also works nicely standing upright, to give a soft warmth to the legs, if you don’t want to use it as a footrest.

   The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is because: 1) the kickstands on the bottom are slippery, hard plastic, so the entire footrest slides all over my carpeted floor; and 2) there is no auto-off feature, which would be a really nice feature since you have to reach down under your desk to turn it off (or switch from high to low). I have it plugged into a controlled outset, so it cuts power when my office lights go out when I leave, so I never have to turn it off, but it might be annoying for someone to do that. They should have a remote or something. Actually, I think they do but it looks like it’s from the 1970s, so I passed.

   It’s not clear from the product description that this runs on 110V so can’t be used with UK 240V. A basic adaptor won’t work for this product.
   However, it arrived promptly, it’s light, and looks easy to use. I would have very much liked to have used it.

   I asked for a return and refund and this was dealt with promptly. There was a bit of confusion because I didn’t use the correct return label meaning there was a delay in getting my refund. However, once I raised it with the vendor it was all sorted very quickly and with good grace (especially as the delay was my fault!)

   Great product. keeps my toes nice and warm in winter cold weather. The only problem I found is, it slides on the hardwood floor. I had to add rubber strips to the bottom on order for it to stay in place.

   This little plastic square is wonderful. It takes a little while to warm up (2-5 min?), but when it does, it’s awesome.
   There are two heat settings, I find low is good for wearing socks or fabric slippers. high is good for going through rubber soles and regular shoes.
   It’s all plastic, so if you were rough with it, it could crack or break, but sitting under my desk, it looks fine and keeps my feet toasty warm. I’m extremely happy with this purchase.

   I’m on my computer a lot, and it gets pretty chilly inside the house during the winter time. Before I would use one of those heater lamps (looks like a fan, but has a heater instead of blades) that you get from asian stores and put it next to my computer chair. However that means only one side of my body is heated, and my chair and desk would also get dangerously hot. Also it seemed to have damaged my skin with some kind of burns because I would use the heater lamp too close to me (otherwise I couldn’t get warm).

   This feet warmer has none of those downsides. I can finally ditch the heater lamp and sit comfortably in my computer chair without my body unconsciously leaning towards the heat source like when I was using the heater lamp. Some people in the reviews are saying this feet warmer is too hot or not warm enough. I think the highest setting is definitely not warm enough to use as a general heater ( like it is suggesting from the instruction manual). It is quite toasty, but also not too hot at all for my bare feet. The low setting might not feel warm at first, but when you keep your feet on it for a while your feet will be warm. Very comfortable and much safer than using a heat lamp. I use this with a snuggie blanket for those long computer sessions. Another huge plus is that it’s very affordable (under $30 at the time of my purchase).

   I have been using this for a month now with no problems, but I will update my review if the thing stops working like some of the people in the reviews are complaining. As of now, I like this thing enough that I will buy another one to give to my sister.

   Update April 2019:
   The legs are broken and my puppy chewed the knob off, but the thing still works like new.

   Mantiene los pies calientitos, por fin deje de tener los pies helados. Lo e usado descalzo (en calcetines) y con zapatos, de las dos formas funciona muy bien!
