I ordered the Trio Plus Portable Air Purifier for my 960sq’ home. I live in the rocky mountains and this time of year is fire season, we also have a cat which I’m allergic to. After lots of research I found Field Controls to be the only company to build a portable air purifier that filters smoke, micro particulates, and smelly cats. Unfortunately it arrived with a broken UV bulb, at first I just cleaned up the glass, turned it on and was impressed that the air quality sensor actually worked. But then a piece of glass dislodged and started bouncing around in the fan compartment so I called the company for advise on getting the glass out. They were easy to talk to and gave me good suggestions but after my failed attempt they decided to send me a new unit. Their company’s decision to help in the best way for me is the kind of customer service I try to achieve in my own business. I am grateful to have stumbled upon a company with high fidelity for themselves and their clients. They build a multitude of indoor air quality products that I will apply to my future residential design/build projects.

Ever since we have entered the Pandemic Age and the new normal, I have been increasingly paranoid about health, hygiene, air quality, and consequently, air purifiers. Amazon has allowed me to test quite a few for you already, and when this was available, I had to test it. First of all, I have never had a purifier as expensive as this – the previous one being about $600. Secondly, I have never had a purifier with an advertised cleaning capacity as large as this – 3,200 square feet. This is big enough for a large house, a large office, or a big store. Since I live in a small apartment, I had to find a rather unique way to test its power and effectiveness, and after trying a few times, I found out a great situation that worked to pretty much perfection.
See, I have certain nasal allergies, one of which is pet hair. My brother has three dogs – two small ones, just bigger than teacup sized dogs, and one small-medium, about almost 20 pounds. The small medium has very short, matted hair, and she doesn’t give too much of an issue. One of the smaller dogs has longer, wavy hair, but he’s the one that I’m most compatible with ellergy-wise. However, it’s the third dog with the more fluffy hair that gives me the most severe reaction. Usually, I have to take an allergy pill when I find out they’re about to visit, and that has worked wonders. So to test this purifier out, the one time they visited, I did not take an allergy pill. When they visited, the fluffy haired dog gave me an instant skin reaction – I was itching up. But I waited until it reached my nasal cavity reaction, and when I started my first sneezes, I closed all the windows I was able to, and turned on the Trio. Since the product info stated it can do 1,600 sqft in 30 minutes, I decided to test my apartment out at the 15 minute mark. Amazingly, at the 15-minute mark, my allergies stopped getting worse. Usually, it would get worse to the point where my eyes would be constantly red and wet, and I would sneeze every 5 or 10 minutes or so. What I noticed was that my eyes stopped watering so much, and my sneezes became more spaced out. My allergies didn’t stop entirely – I think that is one miracle that’s not medically possible with a purifier, but it did help a lot.
I use and have used a myriad of purifiers throughout the pandemic: A couple for the car, a small portable one for bedside, another bigger, but still small one for the bedroom, and three other bigger ones for the entire house, including one mounted on the wall. I don’t want the Trio to replace all of them, as I am very grateful for all of them. But what I ended up using this for is more of a power cleanser of sorts, where I would do a power cleanse once a week, and each time the dogs come over. The power of the trio is immediately noticeable, and it’s not even the biggest one I have ever reviewed. But the motor/power of this purifier stands out, and it has been working great in the two months I have had it so far.
At this price point, I do not recommend it to everyone. But if you have a large space to need to purifier, or want the absolute most powerful air purifier, in all my reviews of over 15 purifiers so far, this one is the most powerful and most effective.

This is the most expensive air purifier I have used, but depending on your use case, it just might be worth it. It can clean a room up to 3300 sq. ft. So it would be a great addition to a large office, as I don’t think there’s generally homes with rooms that big and from my understanding it can only clean the air in one room. If you leave all the doors open, I guess it could help, but im sure the walls would be an issue. That being said, using this in the largest room of my house which is pretty large as it’s 2 living rooms, a kitchen and dining area without the intrusion of walls blocking airflow, this work great. It cuts down the dust problem I have in my home, which obviously isn’t good to be breathing in on a daily basis. Along with all the pet hair and dander that’s floating around the room. I have noticed the serious reduction of dust and dander, along with the animal smell being less pungent as I return home. The unit is easy to love from room to room if you want do clean the air of each room on a schedule. It can clean the max 3000+ ft room’s air in an hour and a half sized room in only 30 minutes. Any smaller than that and the time is basically nonexistent. It’s a great air purifier at a premium cost but can easily be worth it depending on your needs.

This Air Purifier is TOP OF THE LINE. It’s a little bigger than most, but smaller than a room size air conditioning unit. It’s modern and sleek and can easily be tucked out of sight. I ordered it mainly because it said it was commercial grade and had UV filtration, and I really needed something heavy duty for my basement (mold/mildew). I have this sitting at the bottom of my basement stairs (with the door open) and it purifies the entire house! I’ve been using the 8hr timer function every morning. Within 30min of running it, we can smell the air quality difference (smells like a sterile clean) even upstairs. I love that you can see the UV light working, it has a timer/speed settings and you can visually see your current air quality with the glowing colored light indicator on the front. Aside of the UV bulbs, this also has several filters. Make sure before you plug this in, you remove the front panel and take off the plastic wrapping off each filter. We can all tell a huge difference in the air quality since we’ve been using this. I’ve ordered a few air purifiers in the past, and this one is TOP of the line quality! Until we got this one, I had been running several purifiers in different parts of the house. This one is on the expensive side, but if you have a need for a heavy duty Purifier… you might as well splurge and just order one that’s high quality and truly is a whole house machine. You won’t be disappointed!
