Edward R Molina-Lamas –
I purchased this product to cooldown my garage. It gets very hot when I park a vehicle that has been on the road. And I am afraid it will get only worse. My HOA objected to the installation of a Mini Split A/C unit. So this one product seemed to fit my needs. Except that it did not blow cool air when the garage got above 90 degrees. After the 650.00 U$A installation cost under my garage ceiling (9 ft. high), I had to install an electric outlet near the top, because the power cord was only 6 foot long (an additional 675.50 U$A bill)
I was devastated; it would only feel barely cool at the blowing “air outlet pipe” mouth when the garage temperature was below 80 degrees. I though that it might not have enough coolant, but after 4 hours of operation it condensed 2.5 gallons of water. When the temperature got above 90 degrees the “cold wind” setting produced air as hot as the garage temperature present at the time. It only got worse as the temperature kept rising. I believe that the air flow speed through the unit overwhelms the cooling device.
I have additional negative observations about the device design: the drain spout location on the front of the unit required to set the collection on the pathway, and the exit of the electrical wires on the center of the side panel makes for an unsightly installation (both should be located towards the back of the unit; it just exposes simple engineering disregard for the the challenges it presents to the end user installation.
IT DOES NOT DO WHAT IT PROMISES TO DO.
Luckily Amazon agreed to the return and the refund of the purchase price (even gave me a gift card to defray some for the un-installation costs; it weighs 70 lbs. and it was difficult to install and un-install).
The whole experience was disappointing and set me back for over 1,200.00 U$A, left a bitter taste in my mouth and an very hot garage.
