This humidifier seems to have all the features I want but I can’t get it to do the job properly. I borrowed a friend’s and loved it so bought my own. The first one arrived with no water tank. The second one arrived and worked for one day. Then I went to turn the humidity level up and the entire unit powered off and won’t turn back on.

Solid engineering and manufacturing. Hydrostat is dead-on accurate. It’s smart and has a lot of customization people will appreciate. The remote is awesome. The heated mist option basically just generates a lot more humidity, which I really like. When hearing you can hear a faint boiling sound, so it’s working harder and doing more. I leave the fan on auto and it just adjusts as needed and keeps my room 48-52% humidity all the time while set on 50%. I use this for the whole house when we drop down in the 30’s and lower and it keeps everyone happy in a 1,750 sq ft house. If you live in the southwest or a very cold and dry place, don’t expect it to humidify and entire house, but it will do very big rooms just fine even in the desert. This is my second Vornado product and I’m a believer.

Update: with full nonstop speed, it will use up the whole tank in exactly 10hrs. Tried it twice. Seems just a bit behind the Element.

I purchased this to replace the heavy maintenance required Element. Good way to compare them. Haven’t use it long yet, but I think people may like to see some purchased review …..
UH100 turns right on. Unlike the Element, which sometimes need to guess.
The output is right in front of the fan, so the design is to blow the mist into the surrounding. The idea is good, I have been wondering why no one ever put a fan to blow the mist for ultrasonic style. Here it is, and at this moment, seems working.
I must admit one thing, the ability to send water into the air isn’t as good as the Element. The Element and UH100 uses the same size tank, and Element can some time almost finish a tank during my regular sleep (non stop), but the UH100 couldn’t. Maybe the UH100 is still new, I’ll let it run more to confirm that. Honestly, the Element does give humidity into air fast, but the design is awful. I believe this UH100, as ultrasonic, should be less maintenance.
The fan on UH100 works, and the surrounding ground and object won’t have the wet feeling after the UH100 ran for some times. However, to actually circulate the room, the fan is a bit on the weak side.
One big issue with the UH100.
The sensor for humidity is stupid. We know how it works. User select the desired level, the machine works, bring the level up, sensor tells the machine to stop when level reached. Yup. Ideally. But not this UH100.
In a medium size room, set the machine to 50%, let it run on High or Auto, the machine will keep slowing down as if the humidity level reached, but instantly fire back up because it realize the level was not reached. So if you use it with the setting of level with High or Auto fan, you can sometime see it goes on and off and on and off frequently. This is Not good. It will break the fan for sure. As one reviewed, the fan died early. I think that maybe the cause. The sensor, I think, is right next to the fan output where the mist will circle around. Therefore, the sensor will always get wrong data. I set to 50%, the room was 40% when it keeps thinking it is enough.
When you set to low, the air flow isn’t really pushing the mist to circle around, so the sensor won’t give false data as often.
I need to keep it on always on to make sure the fan stays on instead of choking itself to death.
I was thinking to get one more due to the design of fan plus ultrasonic. Now, I want to wait to see how capable it is first. Like I said, it isn’t sending as much as the model Element, so it can only be use in small area.

After one month of use:
When my first operation with this product, it was quiet enough on low mode that you can sleep peacefully. However, after some use… it is too loud even on low fan speed. So loud that even when place one room apart, you can still hear it. I can’t tell what is wrong with it, but the base fans seems to cause the sound.
First Review:
The humidifier works as intended except the mineral cart, after two weeks of use it already failed to soften the water resulting in dust around it. It is intended to be replaced every month, but with my experience, I need to replace it twice a month.
Filling the reservoir’s easy, it is somehow fun to do as it feels like a toy, rather than a chore.
On low level operation, the fan is quiet to allow sleep without disturbance. This is my first non HVAC humidifier, so I don’t have a comparison to a different product.

This is my 2nd Vornado humidifier because you can actually wash the components AND it works!! I’ve had this one for almost 2 months & washed it recently once it started to get weird and it was perfect after! The humidity level can be automated or you can have it run non-stop while setting the fan to high or low.
The one thing I will say which is funny is it makes a bubbling, glug glug sound when air is escaping the filter and coming to the top. So you do have to get used to that…
I def recommend!!

Well, I got this brand because it says it’s made in the USA. It’s not. Only certain units are. The tank broke- I filled it and screwed it back together and picked it up by the handle then the handle popped off and the full tank of water shattered all over the floor. (This was the 2nd week). In addition to this I noticed the “chimney cap” (the top part where the mist comes out) had started shattering. I called customer service since thankfully it does have a warranty and they said they would send me replacement parts and that they would arrive in 2 days. A week later- no parts; they had sent them to the wrong address. Finally got the replacement parts two weeks later. The replacement tank was correct but the chimney cap was not. At this point I didn’t really care about the chimney cap and just used it as it was.
Two days after getting g replacement parts I waiting two weeks for it completely stopped working.
I called them again and they tried to tell me they would call me back but I kept them on the phone until they solved the issue and stated they would send me a new unit.
On the phone the customer service lady tried yo direct me to cut the cord on the unit without unplugging it!!!! (I did not do this but was surprised someone would try to get someone else cut a live electric cord!!)
I will not purchase another product from this company and will look for something made in the United States with American customer service also.
I received the 2nd replacement unit and it just leaked water all over the place. I called Vornado and they told me they manufactured certain units wrong- they have a shorter than normal white cylinder on the base that is supposed to be a stopper to control water flow- when it’s too short the water just leaks out.
They can process another replacement but shipping is closed for the week and it won’t be shipped out until Monday- I won’t get the new unit for 6 more days.
The total time the product has worked since I purchased it on May 6th- it’s now June 16th, is about 7 days between two units.
I was hoping the first replacement would not have issues but these are turning out to be junk.
Got the next replacement unit- it worked until I had to refill it then it leaked all over the Floor. By now I understand to fiddle with the little part that sticks out from the bottom. I pulled it out slightly and the leaking stopped- however I went to refill this replacement unit for only the 2nd time and the plastic on the reservoir desintegrated and the reservoir shattered under my fingertips. I was not being rough with the device at all. I was being very gentle because this product has had so many problems.
Complete crap product. Also, they are not made in the USA. They are made in China. They have customer service in the US but this product it a waste of time and money. Buy something else, I wish I never bought this junk.
I got the next replacement. This time they sent me a different type of unit. They said it would take 2 days to get here, it was 7. I filled it up and it worked okay but stopped putting out mist even though the tank was half full. Then it started leaking. I just let it run since the carpet was already wet and it’s easier to let it run all over the floor instead of trying to pick it up and take it to the sink. The next morning I attempted to fill it again but this time in the bathtub. All the water ran out again! Not only this but the top of the water tank came completely off broken at the plastic seam.
Do not purchase these piece of crap humidifiers. Waster of time and money.
