My kids share a 12×20-ish room and it has been SO CHILLY this winter in Minnesota. My daughter is still a tiny one who sleeps in a crib without any blankets, and I was bundling her up in these obnoxiously thick sleep sacks with a bunch of layers underneath. And my 3yo son is a freeze-baby who was waking up every night and crawling into bed with us because he was so chilly. So, to combat the problem, at least temporarily, I got this space heater.
It’s been working like a charm for the last month and a half (of which, we have had 27 days where the temperature has been below 0 for some or all of the day). I am a little cautious of fire safety, so I keep it on the low setting. The difference is that it takes a little longer to heat all the way up, but it still gets there and stays warm all night. It’s certainly warmer closer to the heater, which is nearer to my son’s bed. My daughter’s area still is warm enough, but takes a little longer to get warm.
I like that it has a timer. I set it for 11 hours every night so that it goes off in the morning and I don’t have to think about it. It only will allow you to set the timer in hourly increments. This is fine, but there are nights where they go to bed early or late and I wish I could set it for half hour increments.
We keep the thermostat on the unit at 67 or 68. I’m not sure that it’s completely accurate. The unit seems to warm up such that the thermostat thinks it’s 70, then let itself cool off a bit before kicking back on. The 70 seems like a really hot 70, though. I’m not sure my kids mind, but it would be uncomfortable if it were my room. I have an old-school mercury thermometer in the room that seems to read a couple degrees more than what the space heater reads. So, when I turn it on, the space heater thinks it’s 60 when it’s really 62-63. So, that 70 is really more of a 72-73. That’s a pretty warm temp at night. But when it thinks it’s 67 and it’s more like 69, that’s a pretty good sleeping temp for a little one. So, sometimes it’s hot in there and sometimes it’s fine. I’m not sure we’d get any better with a different space heater.
I should also note that this unit seems pretty safe to have around kids. My kids could probably jam some small toys in there if they really tried hard, but it would take some effort. I certainly wouldn’t leave it on and let them play unsupervised, but since we turn it on at bedtime, it serves its purpose.
It’s also a small-ish unit, so it’s easy to find a spot for. The hard part is that the user manual expects you to leave something like 3′ on each side of this free of toys/clothes/books/etc. for fire safety. That’s a pretty substantial area.

Product is not working correctly. Super loud and cheaply made. Poor performance. Very disappointed in my purchase.

I ordered 2 heater in October 2021 to help with my drafty 90+ year-old house and have loved them!
The heaters are gorgeous, they are not an eye soar to your home decor — and I really appreciate that! The little remote controls are a great feature, the safety features are great and work. There is a high and low heat setting (I’ve really only used the high setting), there is also a fan setting, and a timed-off feature which I’ve used a few times and is very convenient.
For such a small heater, it does a darn good job of heating a medium to large size room (19×13 ft) and an excellent job of small rooms (12×12 ft and 15×12 ft).
Both heaters have worked really well with no issues so far.
My husband got one for his office and mine is in the living room where I work and relax. We both love them so much that I purchased 2 more earlier this week for our *ice cold* basement and one for our bedroom, so we don’t have to carry them around room to room with us – which you could do because they are very portable units.
It definitely takes longer to heat larger and extremely cold spaces like our basement family room, but its to be expected and understandable. I bet if I took 2 units down there it would get nice and toasty very quickly.
All-in-all I highly recommend for their great functionality and superior/fashionable design that you will not mind looking at all winter long.

Well, once again Vornado has surpassed by expectations about their product. This heater not only looks good but also performs extremely well. I have it in a 12×12 bedroom and it keeps it nice and warm. It doesn’t blow air much, but it circulates the heat making the room temperature perfect all over. It has a climate control feature that is awesome in keeping the room temperature constant and consistent. It is quiet and works perfectly in the bedroom. The metal construction keeps this unit from getting hurt itself all the while keeping the outside of the unit cool to the touch. I would buy this again and again with no hesitation. There is one problem I had with it. I couldn’t get the temperature reading on the unit to read the right temperature. I got a hold of customer service and was walked through on how to reset it. The customer service was prompt and precise when getting back to me. They were very helpful and very nice to deal with. So overall this remains the best purchase I have made on room heaters ever.

Do not buy if your in Canada !!! This heater only works if you already have sufficient heat and piggybacks off other heat sources. Not worth the money !

It’s big and not much air volume or heat! Returned!

Looked, and looked. I don’t usually write about a product. I chose this regardless of the price because it looked like it would do what I waned it to do. I wanted a heater that would throw heat several feet, and I could also turn it and point it toward the bathroom to throw heat in there while showering. It does that. The thermostat does what it should. I set it for 71 degrees, and it goes to 73 degrees, then calms down and goes into maintenance mode, to keep the room warm. Most regular thermostats will go a couple of degrees higher, that’s not a problem. The remote works as it should. Being moderately disabled, I needed one that if the night gets really cold, it will maintain the warmth I need in addition to the blanket and quilt I use. I do use an oil filled Pelonis radiator, that I keep on he real cold side of the room. But that’s another story. The Vornado can be a whole room heater, but my room is open to the living room, so that hinders its ability to be a whole room heater. Cold air still comes in. But it does the job. Price? You get what you pay for. I am keeping the receipt. It has a 5 year guarantee / warranty. From the quality, I don’t think I will have to use it. Time will tell. I will edit this if necessary. Thanks. and thanks for other evaluations for this product. No, no association with the manufacturer.
