I bought this unit upon recommendation of a contractor, and I haven’t been disappointed. It is expensive, but thus far it seems very much worth it

Bought this air conditioner 8/10/2022, it stopped cooling 8/2024, Whirlpool said they only warranty for 1 year and don’t honor extended warranties. This is now a $850.00 piece of junk. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again, and I recommend you shouldn’t either.

The unit cools fast and well, but if you enter a set point it just runs and runs and runs. If you enter auto mode it will actually shut off every now and then, but then it raises the temp set point on it’s own the longer it runs. If you press the green plant button so that it uses less power it doesn’t make a difference. Buy a newer unit with wifi capability and an app you can access from work to start it up on the way home.

If there was a spot for no stars, I would choose it, although Amazon delivery was spot on. I am 74 years old and had to hire someone to install this 80-something pound through the wall unit only to find the thing doesn’t work. Fan screamed but didn’t blow out any air. Called Whirlpool, sent them a copy of the receipt and an audio/video. They told me I had 30 days to return it. So I had to hire someone to take it out and re-package it. I believed Whirlpool was a reputable brand which is why I purchased it. But with this experience, I won’t ever buy Whirlpool again. Clearly quality assurance failed to make sure this was a working a/c before shipping it out.

I had to replace 2 20 year old whirlpool acs that were through the wall mounted. These fit the old wall shields snuggly with a little nudging, They are much quieter than the old acs. Just hope the last 20 years.
