Bought these to prevent mold in the refrigerator in our trailer while not in use. It worked well to reduce moisture. The only thing is, ours arrived with pale green crystals, not orange. After use they turned a darker green. We question whether the items were somehow exposed to moisture before we received them however the packaging seemed completely sealed. I almost took it back but decided to give it a try. Glad I waited. The directions say to put them in a low oven to restore to orange which we haven’t tried yet. While camping we exposed them to direct bright sunlight for an entire day which lightened the color back to light green but not orange. We had hot weather and didn’t want to heat up the trailer by using the oven. Overall we’re pleased with the product.

Tried them in a wet environment and color changed as expected. Placed in oven as instructed and turned back orange. Good product.

I’ll admit that I expected the orange and green colors to be more vibrant, but it makes sense that the photos’ colors are enhanced for effect. The silica gel would literally have to be glowing to look like the enhanced photos.
The attached photo, also from the product listing, is an accurate depiction of what mine looks like in a brightly lit room. Medium lighting (specifically the lighting in my closet) wasn’t enough for me to clearly tell what color it was. With the tin being the way it is, there’s not much light going in there so they do tend to look darker. Mine isn’t as dark as how some others make theirs out to be.
Kind of expensive for silica gel inside a cheap tin with holes in it, but I guess the convenience factor makes up for it since I wasn’t about to DIY it.

These are perfect for small and medium size gun safes. You can also use them in gear totes in areas that may be prone to moisture or subject to temperature changes.

Got the larger ones to keep in the cabinet, and the 5pk of smaller ones for ammo crates and hardcases, they work as advertised, and reactivate after baking. ADVICE: reactivate them on a regular basis, they don’t take long to green in a humid climate. Definitely do not open them, you’ll never get the thing to stay closed again.

I am using these to help keep the humidity down where I have my coin collection. Hopefully these will hold out well in the summer when the humidity can be a problem, and I can swap out the fresh ones for when I need to regenerate the one in use.

After using disposable desiccant for years in our trailer, these work just as well. We put them in the fridge freezer, and ice maker after a camping weekend. These prevent mold/mildew from forming, in the excess moisture left over when leaving the equipment turned off.

The holes have been machined poorly and most don’t even penetrate the container. I was suspicious that they had not changed colour after days in a high humidity room. I took the tin apart and it has very few holes that are all the way through so it’s not going to work.
