Overall I am really happy and feel like I got my money’s worth.
Pros:
* All of the buttons are hidden away — you have to open the cabinet to push any of the buttons. This helps give the unit a vintage, minimalist look that I absolutely adore. It’s one of the most realistic-looking electric heaters I’ve seen.
* thermostat — always a must
* two wattages — this helps run in an “eco” mode and pull less power
* you can run heat only, the lights only, or (my favorite) both
Cons:
* there is no main “power” switch. This means that in order to effectively turn OFF the entire unit, you have to operate multiple buttons, which could potentially be dangerous. It does have overheat protection and I still think it works great, but it is something to be careful about while you’re using it.
Other things to consider:
* this was a tiny con for me personally, though not a dealbreaker and a matter of taste/preference/sensitivity. It’s not the ultra-quietest unit I’ve ever had. It’s pretty quiet, lower than a conversation, but if you’re sitting in a silent home office like I am, it’ll be quite noticeable. I doubt someone sitting on the other side of a zoom call would notice it kicking on. I’m sitting with it and can still hear it kick on when I play music at a normal volume. I think it’s fine for the amount I paid for it, but I would have preferred it to be a tiny bit quieter.
* this was a pro for me but you may want to note: there is no remote. I actually like this because I don’t want another tiny remote to track, but you may feel differently.
* some assembly required. You have to attach the feet (3 screws for each of the 4 feet). It was pretty simple, took me maybe 5-10m while I watched tv. I’m happy to put in that much work to help keep costs and shipping lower.
* while the exterior of the unit is very vintage-looking, the fire effect could be a bit more realistic-looking. I’ve seen better ones, but they’re about 3x the cost of this unit or more, so again, I feel like it’s perfect for what I paid. I have already turned off the lights in my office and just left the lights of this heater on and felt the cozy, warm winter vibes.

It is a nice looking heater. It fits the room perfectly. The problem is it doesn’t work. The heater come on for 30 seconds and the heating element goes off and 20 minutes later comes back on for 30 seconds and goes off again to complete the cycle, again. It doesn’t warm a room. This product is useless and is garbage. I have larger electric fireplace in my living room and it operates as it should. This is not a good purchase.

It was safely packed. Works very well. Very attractive, sturdy, and well-made. Includes 4 easy to attach legs with screws. Adjustable warm heat that gives a cozy comfortable atmosphere. Can use as fireplace only with no heat. The flame color is adjustable and very realistic. When combined with the heating element it is a perfect replica of a fireplace with the most comfortable warmth of infrared heat. Low and high heat settings provide efficiency and economy options. 1000w/1500w

Love my little heater! Bought to add a little warmth and ambiance to our lake house living room. It will not heat a large space but is good for adding to the warmth. It was very easy to put together and the flames are perfect! No remote control.

I purchased this heater to help offset my heat bill! This heater has a great output and takes up little space in my cathedral ceiling great room!!! It is appealing to the eye and gives a warm ambiance!!! The only drawback is no remote control, however, for the price I would purchase again!!!

Overall, this fireplace heater is great. It’s lightweight, yet a good size. The “fire” looks nice and the heat output is sufficient.
My only complaint is that one of the holes for screwing in the legs wasn’t drilled out. Thankfully, my husband got out his drill gun and fixed the problem. However, if we hadn’t had the tool, I would have had to send the unit back.

Have had it for over a year. Lowest setting is okay. Puts out quite a bit of heat. The higher setting makes me a little nervous. I’ve put it up high and had it start making a stink. I don’t think the knob turns the heat up or down, but you have to turn it up a bit or it will only run for a few minutes and then turn off.
The fire is definitely not realistic. It is lights behind a plastic dome.
Mine starts making a noise after the light has been running for a while. I have to move it forwards, backwards, side-to-side to get the noise to subside for a day or two. Something to do with the mechanism that’s running the lights, I suppose.
Just put it on for the first time this season and it started making a stink right away. Never thought about this before, but not sure what kind of toxins it might be blowing into my environment.
If I were going to buy another heater that looks like a wood-burning stove or fireplace I would go with something else.
