I bought this for an apartment room off my house that’s 25ft x 15ft. Its the main heat and AC in this room which my oldest son lives. I installed it last summer so we had it thru this whole winter. No problems heating even on 15 degree nights. Didnt even have to crank it up on colder nights to accommodate the colder temps. The coldest night we had here this winter was 9 degrees and windy. It was putting out 120 degree air than night. I have 2 other 18k Mrcool units for the rest of the house which is why i went with this one. Now the 9k dont have that crazy blower fan speed that the big ones have but its comparable air flow of a big window unit. Very efficient due to the variable compressor. One thing I like about mini splits are you can run them off smaller generators in a power outage where a typical heat unit is on a 60 amp breaker and you cant. If your concerned about heating or cooling power just buy a unit one size up. Bigger unit dont work as hard so it pulls less power while maintaining temp.

IF all the parts had been there. NO signal cable in any of the boxes. Assuming it was in the box with either the outdoor unit or the indoor unit. Refrigerant lines were in the box with the outdoor unit.. no sign of the signal wires.. so I have to go buy my own.

I installed three of these smaller 120 V units in my guest bedrooms. Installation is brainless if you have any level of mechanical ability. I live in a moderate climate rarely below freezing in the winter, 90 degree days most of the summer. These units will feeze you out of the room or cook muffins if that’s what you want. Normal room temp is achieved within minutes. The units are dead quiet. Im installing 3 more larger 220V units in the rest of my house and ditching the entire central system. Im not going with the multiple zone sytems for one reason: i figure if a single zone unit fails, i have to spend less than two grand to replace it. If one zone on a big 4 zone unit fails I’m out 5 grand plus. Also the multiple zone units are super heavy. I can pick up the smaller units by myself. Last thing, the difference between 3rd and 4th generation is minor regarding electrical hookups and conduit. For me, the reduced price of the 3rd gen is more important than a “convenience” improvement.

DO NOT BUY THIS
Mr Cool is of No help at all. We installed the 4 unit system and followed the instructions to the T.. some units are not blowing heat, others are shutting off for no reason.. I tried to contact Mr Cool to see if they have any authorized technicians to send out , They Do Not. They tell me to wait all day by the phone and I’ll maybe get a call from one of their field techs in Kentucky ?? I’m in California . I’ve got a 7 month old and 3 year old freezing their butts off.. DO NOT BUY THIS !!

I installed 3. 2 years later one stopped working and couldn’t figure out what’s wrong with it. Called support and was told it was out of warranty (of course). Had to replace the whole thing. Feel like they should last longer than 2 years for what I paid.

When I first got this unit I though it was great. Unfortunately that feeling was short lived. The unit worked fine for 2 years. I only used it for the summer months in my man cave when it was hot outside. Then it suddenly stopped working! I had to get an HVAC Tech to come and check it out. The compressor was shot. When I contacted the company they told me that my warranty had expired and they couldn’t help me. The warranty is only 2 years!!! That fact that they only offer a 2 year warranty shows that they know the product is complete crap! I have used small window units that cost much less that have lasted much longer! DO NOT WASTE YOU MONEY ON THIS OVERPRICED CRAP!
