Difficult to fill with water. There is no removable tank and there is only one small hole at the top to get water into the unit. There is an opening in the back but need a hose or something with a long neck to be able to get the water into the unit.

It worked the second that I turned it on I didn’t even realize it had different speed modes at first and right away I had it on the lowest mode and it worked instantly and then when I actually started looking at it and playing around with it and has three modes and it works amazing it’s 108° outside of my room is perfect right now

What I liked about it, was that it was lite, cute, and I can put it on top of my desk. . It says that you can pull open the back and fill with water. All there is is a hole where the water can be drained. If you put the water on top it trickles on in which takes about 10 hours to fill it up like you’re supposed to and then these little tiny blocks of ice. I guess I just don’t see how it’s going to make it so it’s cool? I don’t get it.

I was unsure if this would work, but I can’t use a window ac unit in my apartment and with the heat wave was desperate for air. This does not work as well as an actual AC unit but I was really surprised at how well it works. When it is 100 degrees outside it brings the temp down enough to be comfortable. It was a little confusing to set up because the instructions don’t specify where to put the ice packs or how the water filling works but it’s not hard to figure out. If you are in a situation where you need ac but don’t have access to an actual ac unit this is worth the money to buy. Also, this unit is way cheaper and quieter than a window ac unit would be. I’m glad I bought this.

 So as you can see in the video, I live in California and it’s been like a 103 here. The house that I rent has a mini split in the living room it’s a small house and it’s older so there’s no air conditioning in the kitchen or the back bedrooms. I have been using ceiling fans and floor fans constantly for 24/7. I saw the reviews on this and I thought well I’ll make a video after I know it works and believe me it works!! I turned off my ceiling fan and the floor fan in my bedroom, and I have this unit in my room, my room is so cooled off in just 1 hour and I have the timer set so I’ll see what it does after 4 hours. Make sure when you get those little blue packs that you fill it with water to the max line and you shake it really well and stick it in the freezer. All I can say is wow wow wow this is an amazing little unit that’s portable you don’t have to put anything in the window and it cools everything off. I can even feel it in the living room and I don’t even have the mini split on I have the windows open and it’s cool in here very bizarre but this unit is a must-have if you’re living in any kind of heat or prepare yourself for next year. I will eventually Buy a couple more because I have a room off my kitchen that has a treadmill that I will put it in there if I’m on the treadmill and I am 63 years old so I have internal Summers too LOL. The office that I work at I’m going to have another one put in there so it stays cool because I live on a storage facility and the office even though it has a window unit it is old and not working very well. I will be purchasing a couple more of these down the road.

So, it’s understandable that some reviews seem confused about how fill this swamp cooler up with water because the instructions aren’t clear nor complete. It’s simple to load with water. You open the lid on top and pour the water in just about anywhere. The water drains down the 8 holes shown in the pic into a reservoir. When you turn on the cooler it pumps water up into that shelf which holds the ice packets and then waterfalls back down those 8 holes. The ice slowly chills the water as it circulates. It works fairly well and is not very loud. However, it’s pretty small and is sized probably for a bedroom or one car garage. It’s not cooling my 2 car garage as much as I’d hoped.

We have horrible insulation and our house was staying around 90° it now stays at 74° with a cheaper electricity bill!!! Can’t recommend this enough!

A little disapointed, it is just a fan, a $20 large square one from Target would do the same job. Ended up buying a $300 portable AC unit that does the job.
