Bought in summer 2020. Flooding made me read the manual again. Discovered surprises like an impossible amount of space for this to cover, and suffocation risk. Chatted with Technical Support, and they told me that there is NO SUFFOCATION RISK. And that the machine is great for small and medium rooms, small apartments, and smallish basements. NOT for impossible, 2,500-square-foot rooms. They reported both errors to teams that will correct the manual and this ad.
Meantime, it works really well in a medium sized basement room that is maybe 10×10 or 12×12. And it easily dries the whole small apartment. But it is HOT and a bit loud for our sensitive hearing. And the buttons have pictures but no words and some are impossible to guess, so you have to memorize them or keep the manual. And the buttons are flat, which makes them easy to clean, but hard to find and use. Also, the top is flat but flimsy, and it isnt attached well. So even though it invites setting something down while you check the humidity level, you cannot rest anything on it for even a moment. Make sure you read the manual because there is a filter that needs care pretty often, even besides emptying the bucket. Bucket for this model holds 2 gallons, and machine can remove at least one gallon every 2 hours, depending on settings, humidity, room-home size, and air temp.
Summer 2023, it is 3 years old and still working well. But i thought i heard a buzzing-ringing noise from the compressor, and felt a drumming kind of vibration, so i chatted with Technical Support again. They said noises like this are often normal as it ages. Plus, i found that noises nearby can affect how it sounds, or carry the noise in weird ways. So if you hear buzzing or ringing, try listening again with nearby fans and things off. Then contact Technical Support in case something serious is going wrong. Technical Support also said these machines are very sensitive, so we found that moving it a foot to one side, off a tiny dip in the floor, made it stop shaking so hard, and now it just vibrates normally for an older machine. Good luck. Be safe and well.

The unit essentially works well at removing room humidity. The issues against the unit are:
CONS
1) The control panel display is difficult to see (tiny LEDs).
2) Also the Timer (Start and Run) function is difficult to understand and without use of the Owner Instruction Manual.
3) The Water Collection bucket is difficult to remove and especially troublesome to get back in place.
4) The Water Level Sensor arm sometimes drops down when the Water Bucket has been removed, care when replacing the bucket is necessary as that arm could have dropped and would easily then be broken.
5) The unit seems to cycle On / Off perhaps more than necessary and this is annoying.
PROS
Works well and is fairly quiet.

I had previously bought a little homelabs POS that died after 1 year. All the reviews I’ve seen said dehumidifiers in general are bound to break down eventually. I got the extended warranty for the first one and then used it to purchase this guy. Man what a difference! My basement was around 65-75% humidity and is now sitting pretty at 50%. I empty the bucket once daily while I do the litter boxes, otherwise would just get a hose but for now this works fine. It’s pretty quiet but in general just works awesome. My basement is around 800 square feet and this thing is perfect. Could probably handle more. Here’s hoping for several years on this little dude.

We purchased this machine after we had to return another for not being large enough for our storage room. This machine is great. Works quickly, easy to setup, and holds a lot of liquid so you don’t end up changing it too often.

I have a 4 foot high basement under my bungalow filled with over a hundred boxes of items when I retired and moved here two years ago. I have had a Garrison 70 L pump dehumidifier FAIL under warranty, but could not get a replacement from Canadian Tire as model no longer carried. Got a NOMA 70 L with pump, but it DID not pump. Checked reviews on the Canadian Tire website – all say NOMA dehumIdifiers seem to fail just beyond warranty. Went to Amazon.ca and their brand got highest ratings. Ordered , installed. I have the outside hose draining into a bucket so that I can easily see it is working and use the water in my garden. I also bought the extra 2 year warranty.
THUS FAR AM VERY PLEASED WITH MY PURCHASE.

I bought this to dehumidify my 1600 square foot home. It is rated for 4000 square foot. At first it worked great, though a bit noisy. Also it blows hot air while it is working. When it stopped dehumidifying, it blew cold air. It still turns on, just doesn’t dehumidify. The pump worked great. I was very happy with that feature. I had to really read over the manual to understand the ways it can operate and the icons on the buttons. It’s pretty heavy but luckily it has wheels to roll it around. The water collection tank and filter is pretty easy to clean. When it stopped working and I had to contact Amazon for return. This process has been a nightmare. First they wanted me to return it for a fraction of the cost. They said they would have UPS pick it up even though I didn’t have the box anymore. But when I read the instructions they sent, I was supposed to box it. So I tried the chat for help. That wasn’t helpful. So I requested a call. At first the rep wanted me to purchase it again then return the defective one. Item is no longer available. In the end, she forwarded my warranty request to another department to determine if it has a warranty. However online, it is documented that all Amazon Basics have a 1 year limited warranty, unless it is an item that is consumable, like food or printer ink. I will NEVER EVER buy Amazon Basics again.

It was very uncomfortable humidity these past few weeks. Very happy with the way it removed the excess water from my home. I recommend it as a great buy. So easy to move from room to room. Also it is well made.

I have the model with the pump. It works well. Once the tank reaches full, it pumps about 1/3rd of the water out. It dehumidifies my 1500sqft basement to bone dry.

Cons:
1. poor packaging means this dehumidifier is susceptible to shipping damage. I got two units and both had the same top corner of the box and unit damage. My second shipment also had serious side box damage and the unit was dented and cracked. The damage was pre-shipping so not sure why amazon sent it in the first place?!
2. controls are confusing. The Manual seems to be complete, and yet I still feel lost with the various controls.
Pros:
there are no Pros…since the unit has never worked properly from day one.
Plug it in, the controls light up.
Turn it on, the machine runs.
Eventually starts pumping out warn air.
But after days…and weeks of running (trust me, I tried)…there is still no water in the reservoir.
I have another similar Dehumidifer, thats I parked in the same room, and it collects 30l of water in a couple of days (humid basement)….but this Amazon Basics unit only collected about 1 ounce of water over 3 months (and that was probably due to natural condensation.

This dehumidifier really removes water! Not uncommon for us to have to empty it three times a day in hot, humid weather although our house is air-conditioned. It’s easy to use although I can’t address the timer function since we don’t use it. Like all dehumidifiers of this design, it takes a bit of experience to be able to empty it easily. Given its size and weight, it’s fairly easy to roll it around. To my mind its weight indicates a fairly robust compressor. It is not quiet (especially with the fan on high) but it’s not unacceptably noisy. We’ve only had it for one summer so I can’t address its durability. I’ll update this review in a couple of years–or sooner if it stops working!
