As someone who likes to live in a temperature equal to the fiery pits of ‘the bad place’ this tiny little space heater allows that. I have a medium sized room and Toby the heater easily keeps it at a steady temp.
Your new best friend won’t work unless the bottom sensor has pressure against it to signal that it’s on a steady surface, so you don’t have to worry about it if it tips over. If you’re someone who’s looking to keep it hanging, it does have a handle and I’ve found putting a duct taped piece of cardboard will negate the sensor issue.
Toby also turns off once my room reaches the desired temp, so it doesn’t keep running, making the room unbearable.
There are two dials to control the heater. One on the left sets the temperature and the one on the right goes “off, fan, low and high”. While I personally don’t use the fan setting, it’s a nice extra feature! I’ve found that the low setting is perfect for me, but it seems to only effect how strong the heat is, if you set it to high but keep the left dial low, it won’t over heat, it just reaches farther into the room.
All in all, I love Toby, I would recommend him to everyone and anyone 10/10

What I needed is a small heater to keep my camper from freezing during the winter. The previous heater I had used a relay to turn on. The problem with that is if the power goes out the heater didn’t automatically come back on. My new heater will.
The only problem is that the temperature setting is not calibrated so I will need to experiment to find where the dial must be set for 70 degrees and 40 degrees.
Edit. I tried it out. The problem is that the dial that selects the temperature has a lot of slop and is not repeatable. I have two temperature sensors that I use to find out where I must move the dial to get to 70 degrees. I have found that this position is not repeatable. It seems I must always be adjusting the dial up and down to maintain a temperature. Edit, I can’t get this heater to maintain a temperature. It seems the window between turning on and turning off is too wide. When the heater turns on it increase the temperature way too much . Edit. I gave up. This is garbage. it can heat but the temperature control doesn’t work. The difference between turning on then turning off is too big and the temperature control nob is not repeatable.

This is smaller than the Presto heat dish I bought at Costco. The unit works well, heats nicely, but one flaw in the design only earns it 4 stars. It has a timer. The timer only goes for one hour. And the timer clicks. We were going to use this at night in our bedroom, but not now!
A timer. No way to override. No way to dampen the noise. For only one hour. Sadly, it doesn’t work very well for us, perhaps it is exactly what you are looking for.

I don’t like the central heating system and the portable heater which creates warm wind. They make me dehydrated. This one is perfect and efficient! I don’t get dehydration. And my room is nice warm! It is very light and easy to move, too.

I have two these. They’re moved from room to room in my house and they’ve held up fine. Very quiet, especially for the distribution they give. One of them keeps a 10’x10′ room reasonably warm. I think their best use is on the lower setting, warming the area around my computer desk or sofa. I’d buy them again.

This is a great medium size heater for home or office. The heater is lightweight. Easy to pick up and move. Has two settings only; low and high. Oscillates for even heat which is important for me. The heater has an automatic timer for shut off but for safety also if the heater falls over it automatically turns off. These features make it perfect for me!

Its like sitting in warm sunlight! The heater puts out an amazing amount of heat and is silent and instant! No waiting!
Geek stuff: I have the heater connected to a 1,000-watt dimmer switch so I can further decrease the output of the heater. With the dimmer, I have it running at only ~100-watts of heat output and it is absolutely perfect to warm me up while working at my desk!

This gives heat like you expect from a dish heater. My cat will have nothing else. Sits nice and low so she gets a face full of heat – oooooh nice!
I also really like the timer feature to keep me from leaving it on all night. The oscillation feature is really nice too. It gets 2 thumbs and 2 dewclaws up!!!
