I bought it for it’s size and output as the 1250 watt heater I had for this small room was to much and to large, so this is perfect to provide auxiliary heat to a tv room 15 x13x8.
It’s well built, but the wiring directions are reversed, in that the right side has 4 wires and the left side has only 2 wires and not like the diagram shows with 4 and 2 respectively.
It draws 486 watts on my line voltage of 118 volts.
I think it deaws around 4 amps.
If you buy it though, don’t plan on sending it back unless the shipping fee of $37+ dollars doesn’t bother you!

Did exactly what it was supposed to do for a very reasonable cost

This baseboard heater ignited within 8 hours of operation. I think the internal element of the baseboard that is supposed to detect high heat and turn off is unreliable at best because this wouldn’t have ceased sparking had I not cut off the electricity. I renovated a bedroom, ripped up the carpet and put in a brand new vinyl floor. Once we did that we replaced an older baseboard with this baseboard. Our electricity is 120 so this baseboard should’ve run perfectly.
After turning on the heat at 6pm we were awakened by what sounded like an explosion at 2am. We smelled smoke and looked around. Sure enough the coils inside the heater were red and throwing off sparks. Part of the coil inside had what appeared to be a small flame. As soon as we cut off the breaker it ceased.
We were so glad no one was hurt, nothing went up with flames and that we were home when this happened to catch it and cut of the electricity. Thank god we ripped out the carpet because there’s no doubt in my mind it would have went up in flames. If we weren’t home it could have been a serious house fire and killed our pets. We were also not thrilled to have to pay an electrician twice. Once to install this unit and then a day later to rip it out and replace it with a unit he recommended.
Clearly I don’t recommend this unit because of my experience with it. If you do decide to purchase it, I highly recommend keeping an eye on it and not leaving it on when you’re not home. Have reached out to Cadet. If they respond I will try to update this review and let you know what comes of it.

I put this in a bathroom that’s 150 square feet. Two of the room’s Insulated walls Are exposed to the outside. The average winter temperatures in my city is about 25F. For only 500 watts, this heater manages to keep the room at a comfortable level. The room won’t get hot but that wasn’t my intent. We just wanted to take the edge off the cold. It does A good deal more than that! I bought the optional single pole integrated thermostat. That way we can turn it off if needed or adjust the temperature.
