We had an old PTAC unit crap out on us in the middle of Summer in this 1940’s house we just bought. No warranty & AC guys told us to just replace it. Bet. We got this C&H 15,000 BTU PTAC unit and it arrived in like 3 days. It slid right into the wall sleeve of the old one even though it was a different brand. Easy install. Immediately functioned without issue. We did also have to buy a wall adapter for the plug was an old incompatible one but it wasn’t overly expensive. Instant relief from the smoldering heat. Super quiet. Remote works properly. We are definitely happy with our purchase.

For the price the performance is top notch. I put it in a house 480 sq ft. It cools it better than a mini split. The air flow is great. It also has a low profile, which makes it a sleek design.
Just keep in mind the sleeve and outside grill is NOT included. You have to order these separately. So make sure you price the ones that include those, might save you some money. This was easy to install.

I only ran it for half the year to cool during summer, and after about 18 months the compressor made an awful noise, smelled lime burning rubber, and quit cooling
How convenient, it only had a one year warranty. Also, it was suppose to heat, I only have a 10X14 room, so it heats with a heat pump, never got warm to keep a reasonable temp and just ran constantly eating electricity, what a waste. I shut it off and used just a small space heater that did the job, like a half two slice toaster. Technical service, never answered the phone. Really?

Any PTAC with plastic fan blades have a limited life. Many have poor part replacement as well. Learned from my buying for rentals.

I had an LG unit that I got 8 years ago & died. No one repairs these things anylonger. LG doesn’t make it anylonger either. It was August in NY. This one was theleast expensive & the only one I could get quickly.
So far it works well for cooling.
My issue is that it’s extremely noisy. Have to raise volume on TV 25% just so it doesn’t interfere.
