Was informed shortly after ordering that there was a small delay with shipment and offered a full refund or a discount if I wished to wait. I chose to wait. Questions I asked about the mini split were promptly answered.
Both boxes arrived same time however the outdoor ñunit was slightly damaged in shipment. I was offered another discount an since the damage was simply a small bend in one protective grill I accepted the second discount. DIY install was simple and both units are supper quiet. Over all I’m supper pleased with this unit’s cooling and heating abilities, though won’t use the heat much.
I used a Broadlink RM Pro and its app to gain some internet and Alexa control.

I’ve only have had is running for about 3 days now and I absolutely love this unit …Have in installed in a 1250 sq ft house . I can feel the cool air hit my bedroom at night across the house . I installed myself ( First time ) pretty straightforward if you follow the directions. ran all the wire myself my buddy is electrician. He just showed me where to screw the wires in the proper areas. Snapped in a new fuse in the fuse box and he also had a compressor Unit to prime the split system. After a 15 minutes of understanding that we have no leaks, went inside and it started right up no problem.. would definitely buy again, considering buying the same company(cost way ) They have a two zone split system that I’m gonna put in my bedrooms next spring. For the price, I don’t think you can beat it.

There are so many choices out there for Mini-Split systems. Yesterday we finished the install of of this system in our 1974 Airstream Ambassador that we have been restoring from the wheels up. The addition of this system replaces the roof-top air-conditioner we installed five years ago that was so nosey you couldn’t sleep in the trailer. Now we have both AC and heat and it’s virtually silent. Great choice.

For the first week or two, this machine did not like running anywhere near freezing. It completely iced over on the protective screen. Thus it could not the ice and make any heat. Once I discovered, the icing was on the protective screen, I took it off. Then it worked much better. Heated my home down to -17 Cthe coldest day this winter. But!, When there’s high humidity around 0° This device struggles to make heat. It doesn’t like the high humidity conditions. It ices over and spends most of its time deicing. I don’t know if there’s a solution to fix that. Or if it’s a problem with justice model, or if this is a common problem on all heat pumps. That being said, it ran flawlessly all winter. it might be that this heat pump is too small for my living space. In terms of near 0° high humidity conditions. I recommend getting a larger size then you need if you’re going to use it for heating. Probably in all brands.

I purchased the 12000BTU Mini Split Air Conditioner & Heater, 20 SEER2 115V. The item came in two different boxes on the same day. Both boxes were packaged well and the shipment came much faster than expected via FedEx. The unit has a sleek and modern design that blends well with any room decor. Most of the build quality feels solid, with durable materials used throughout. It includes an indoor unit for air conditioning and heating, an outdoor compressor unit, and a remote control for convenient operation. There are no visible problems with the unit, as I’ve heard can be found on similar products. The primary reason for choosing this mini split system was its dual functionality—cooling and heating. I currently have a window unit that unfortunately is too loud to do calls or video classes etc, so am looking forward to this unit being much quieter. It should have much higher energy efficiency compared to my older window unit. I don’t have any experience with HVAC systems, and so may opt for professional installation. From the manual, the instructions provided seem clear and the install looks like medium difficulty for the typical DIYer. As someone else has noted, the mounting bracket on the back of the indoor wall unit appears to be somewhat flimsy and on this model has holes for mounting to the studs on 12″ centers, which is not the US standard of 16″. This may require further reinforcement. Certainly a great price, hopefully it lasts!

I recently purchased the COSTWAY 12000BTU Mini Split Air Conditioner & Heater, and I’m thoroughly impressed with its performance. It’s perfect for cooling larger rooms—up to 750 sq. ft.—and the inverter technology makes it incredibly energy-efficient. Even during hot summer days, the cooling is powerful yet quiet, creating a comfortable environment without any disruptive noise.
The heating feature is a great bonus, and I’m excited to see how well it performs in the winter. Installation was straightforward with the provided manual, and the sleek, wall-mounted design blends nicely into my space. With its high SEER2 rating and heat pump, this unit offers fantastic value for the price, especially compared to more expensive alternatives.

I’m speaking on two units I just installed over the past two weeks so this isn’t a full “reliability over time” review.
As described, the units arrived in two boxes each (the indoor unit with it’s bits in one box and the other bits in the outdoor box).
Since the units are economically priced and the performance ratings seem quite good, and I only need heat in the shoulder seasons before I switch to full on wood heat (vs the $$$ electric forced air), they seemed to fit the bill. The heating comment is based on the notes that these will work down to -10C (14F). I don’t know if that means the units will cease to work or if they will lose efficiency, time will tell.
With all that, I decided to do the install myself. Here is where you learn about vacuum pumps, gauges and oil (another ~$200), electrical cutoffs, codes, etc. Did my research before I ordered and the work involved seemed to be straight forward, including running 12/2 wire and conduit (and a new breaker / etc).
Following various install videos and a chat with an HVAC buddy of mine, I quickly determined the best approach and took it, and here’s what I learned:
– the 2″ hole required is going to be a tight fit, so when wrapping with the vinyl, make it tight. If one goes larger than 2″, note that the wall cap cover isn’t going to fit (as it’s 2″) and the larger hole will require more filling.
– the drain hole in the bottom of the outdoor unit is 25 mm, and if you cannot drain directly out, you will need some extras for it (note the size). I installed my units onto a wood deck so I didn’t want the water just running wherever so I did this bit of extra, and here is where you need to know the size, which is in the manual
– One has to remove all the plastic protective shipping covering from the indoor head to get the tape off, which has to be done to install the com wire. Make sure to take care when handling afterwards to not mark up the plastic.
Once the connections were made, line sets torqued to spec, vacuumed for 15 minutes and vacuum leak checked via gauge, everything in place and electrics connected, only then I opened the valves to release the R32 gas and pressure checked all the fittings again for leaks ( with a 50/50 soapy water solution).
Verifying no leaks, time to throw the power. LEDs lit up and with some batteries in the remote, I had the unit pumping out heat within minutes of turning on the main power.
The units so far work as planned. The heat stability in the house is better than ever (haven’t had to cool with them yet, may update after next summer). They are very quiet, even the outdoor units are near impossible to hear inside, and outside it’s mostly a whirring fan sound.
Now, why the support comment? One outdoor unit arrived in a damaged box, which I didn’t notice until after the delivery guy was long gone. When I opened the box, I noticed that the unit had a considerable dent on the business end (connectors / electrics / control unit). I contacted Costway via the Amazon contact process, complete with explanation and photos of the box and the unit, and in less than 24 hours they had a new outdoor unit on it’s way. If I could complain about anything it would be the nearly two weeks to wait for the new unit (same time to get the original one). However as I was not intending to install them right away (and I had one good unit to install currently) and Costway DID CHECK to see if the time to receive it was OK, and it was so I’m not faulting anyone.
So far so good, and time will tell. At this stage I’m recommending my friends and family to consider these units as I now know what is involved for the install, and they work well (they are quiet and throws heat, cooling shouldn’t be an issue, and reasonable to install with what’s provided).

When I received the Mini Split I put it together to find that it did not work. Someone in the supply chain had put a 220 inside unit in a box labelled 115 land I did not notice it. I contacted the seller and they ended up sending me an entire new unit since some of the Freon was lost when I disconnected the wrong inside unit. The responded to my email the next day and sent the new unit within a couple of days. Once I put the new unit in the Mini Split cools perfectly and is very quiet. It is much quieter that several Mini Splits that I have seen that my friends had installed in their houses. They have some of the best Customer Service that I have ever dealt with.

So I had a split installed in our living room by an Hvac pro at a cost of $400 so when i watched them it looked simple so a year later we wanted an a/c in our bedroom so i ordered a costway First it was a great price, 2- i would try the install myself and 3- twice the warranty from our first unit from another company…Well we received the units ,unpacked and assembled with the help of my wife …. it was simple to install ,we even bought an a/c manifold set and a vac pump from Amazon . So after 2 hours of work the unit was up and running ..now to note i can do house wiring so that was no problem and the vac and set up again no problem
so all in all …simple set up and works perfect …the hardest part was drilling the hole which took 10 min. other than that straight forward . we are now going to put one in my work shop and our guest cabin .
even buying the tools it was still cheaper than hiring an Hvac company …Thanks Costway
