I’m thrilled to share my early love affair with the DELLA 12000 BTU Mini Split. A 20 SEER efficiency monster that promises frosty Summers and cozy Winters. While I haven’t yet battled the California heat wave (cue dramatic music please!), this unit has already made a lasting impression.
First, let’s talk about raw power. This bad boy boasts a 20 SEER rating, meaning it’s a champion of energy efficiency. Simply put, it cools like a freezer while sipping on electricity like a tiny teacup poodle.
I can’t wait to test this chiller in the heart of summer. I’ll definitely update this review when the mercury explodes, but just knowing this icy warrior awaits warms my soul (okay, cools it, technically).
Now, let’s talk tech. DELLAs got all the fancy bells and whistles, namely Smartphone control. Download the DELLA app, and boom, you’re the emperor of your climate kingdom. Adjust temperature, set schedules, switch between functions – all from the comfort of your couch. No more sprinting to the unit when the perfect chill escapes you. Technology, don’t fail me now.
Okay, here’s the caveat: while installation isn’t brain surgery, a little HVAC know-how goes a long way. DELLAs recommends dedicating a circuit breaker and testing for leaks at the lines (cue the DIY montage music!). If you’re a seasoned home warrior, this is a walk in the park. But if your toolbox holds more spatulas than screwdrivers, consider enlisting the help of a friendly neighborhood hvac pro.
Overall, the DELLAs 12000 BTU Mini Split is already a winner in my book. It’s powerful, efficient, smart, and (hopefully) a champion against summer scorchers. Once I’ve tangoed with the California heat, I’ll be back to update this review with a frosty victory cry. Stay tuned!

MY ROOM IS 18’X17′ AND ITS KEEPS IT COLD AS I WANT IT TO. HAVE NOT USED HEAT JUST AS OF YET.

This was best investment I’ve ever made. I put this on the wall on my porch that I’ve converted to a sun room. This extra space that I enclosed with plexiglass and wood and sealed with insulation stayed about 20 degrees different from out side. With a window unit and heaters. Now with the split unit it stays what ever temp I want it to be. The della split unit is so quite I have to put my ear on it to hear it run sometimes the out side unit is even quite. If you mount on outside wall that is a little thin and only a few inches thick it might give a little bit of a hum but so slight you have to want to hear it. Turbo cool or heat will cool or heat super fast. The remote is confusing really bad even with the instructions. No real video to watch on it and you can not out it on auto and set a temp. When you put it on auto which is what I use the most your temp is not settable. You can NOT set auto. Not even on the app. AUTO can not be set. I have not found anything anywhere that can tell me how to set auto. Otherwise this is perfect 👌 👍 🥰. I love it.

Do not buy this unless you fulfill all of the following requirements:
-You are generally a very handy person
-Your installation will have the minisplit head unit on the exact opposite side of a wall from the condenser
-You own a torque wrench
-You are using flareseals
-You are not extending the length of this at all
-You know exactly how to plumb a condensation line
Or if you’re an HVAC person I guess.
Note that very few HVAC people up north will work on this unless you buy it directly from them. If you’re planning on having an HVAC person install it, BUY ONE DIRECTLY FROM THEM. This was a nightmare to install in a more custom situation. Save yourself time and money by following my suggestions. You will regret not doing so

DO NOT BUY THIS MINISPLIT PERIOD! GOOD LUCK FINDING SOMEONE WILLING TO COME OUT. Actually, buy this for someone you hate or recommend it to them. It will make their life a living hell until they gain the good sense to throw it away

This thing rocks, I installed mine late October 2023 and it’s been chugging along ever since. Heating bills are down considerably and it runs so quietly. The smart home feature has worked flawlessly since day one but that can always change. Integrates with home assistant if that is something you do too. Overall its a fun project to install if you like DIY stuff, and it really cuts down on bills. Win / Win

We have zero regrets! No wait, one. That we didn’t get them sooner! We (my husband, self and 19yr old son) work outside noon-8am several days a week in Texas. It doesn’t matter how low you set your AC unit it’s just never enough and it just runs it into the ground. We finally decided to pull the plug. In my 40 years I’ve never slept so good. It’s like hotel good but in your own bed!!! Install was super easy because I watched him do it, LOL. I kid. I’ll ask for his install input and update but seriously he installed all 4 (3 bedrooms and 1 living room) in 2 days. Probably wouldn’t have taken so long if he didn’t have to pour a pad for them but it was well worth it! Last pic is from the Nest. They were installed Friday. Compare usage from Sat & Sun to before we got them! Insane!!!

This is 10th Della mini split we have purchased and installed since January 2024. We have only had one issue with a reset code issue and it was resolved quickly and efficiently. getting ready to order another. excellent product.
